that just about sums it up

i found the last 15 very sad

Me too. A total shambles - late on especially.

I like the way we set up away from home but we simply can't do that at home.

We have better players (yes, we do) than most in this division, and we need to get at teams at home.

Teams come to the Reebok to shut up shop and we do exactly the same, I haven't enjoyed one game at home this year, they've all been boring as fuck, at least in the Prem teams attacked us making it exciting.

Away from tactics are spot on, at the Reebok, fucking attack with menace and try to score 2 or 3. Aiming for 1-0 at home will never work in the long run, teams will always get a lucky break at some point.

Bed time.

Think it hit hardest when it seemed far more likely they'd get a second rather than us equalising.

Dougie giving it back to some people near the dug out at full time. Holding up four fingers for some reason?

4 up front?

After probably getting abuse for being negative.

I thought that was absolutely fucking awful. We were outclassed & we're chasing shadows for large parts of the game. I'm not really sure what our game plan is, & I'm not sure the players know what it is either. As has been said, what's the point in tippy tappy free kicks if virtually every time it's going to Mills, Knight or Lonergan to hoof it anyway. We played more long balls than we ever did when SKD was here, except we hardly won any.

If we're going to play short, passing football we need to play through the midfield but virtually every pass is sideways or backwards until Mills or Knight pull the trigger for another hoof ball.

I could pick loads more holes in tonight's performance but the main thing I can say is that it was just bloody boring.

4 sitters missed?

Spearing was about 3 yards off the pace, Moritz was pretty ineffective too; no good with the ball at his feet on halfway, needs to receive it further forward to hurt other teams. Thought Huddersfield were very good though, bossed midfield and comfortably better team for most of the second half.

Cunt in front of me was elated that Knight was starting, couldn't wait to get stuck in: 'stop pointing telling other people what to do and concentrate on your own game knight'........just fuck off please

I agree with all this. Also the Reebok support is currently a vicious circle, moans, groans, anxiety. The fans need something to cheer and the players find it tough in the atmosphere of general despair. Same with many home crowds in this league. That combined with the fact Freedman has set us up to be more defensive means the home games are far, far from entertaining.  As soon as the Huddersfield fans got behind them second half I felt there was only going to be one winner.

That said, I actually thought Huddersfield looked quite decent tonight and was relieved when Ward had to go off injured.

I have to question team selection I feared the worst as soon heard the team, it's the managers job to get them up for it from the first minute and he didn't, at half time he has to A change it and B get them up for it he didn't, Freedman culpable tonight and I'm now very worried I thought he had turned the corner but not so sure now, the way he sets his team up at home kills any chance of atmosphere and gives the opposition confidence I think that formation is fine away from home but at home it's becoming embarrassing, if he does not have a change of tactics at home he's on borrowed time and thin ice with the fans, maybe he thinks he's above being sacked by the fans, well Dougie I can tell you something your far from it.

This bunch of players will get us nowhere if they don't at least give teams like Huddersfield a game

See here's the problem. People think we're still mighty Bolton who deserve to be in the Premier League.

We're a mid-table championship team. At best. Huddersfield are currently a better team than us.

Accept these facts and you won't get nearly as pissy following a CLOSE DEFEAT.

Abysmal

A better team maybe but there's no doubt who has the better players.

And the better manager

A better team maybe but there's no doubt who has the better players.

In who's opinion? Not many managers wanted many of ours this summer or last and I daresay they were all available

4 sitters missed?

I reckon yeah

There was moaning and groaning at times tonight but I think it's actually justified

I didn't hear any full on booing until full time

Dougie looks very frustrated, but I'm with Horwich. He's trying to be too clever alot of the time I think.

Oh and Danns did his usual job of disappearing after the opening spell again.

Will folk start to see that soon?

A better team maybe but there's no doubt who has the better players.

I know I'd rather have a good team of average players than an average team of good players.

A better team maybe but there's no doubt who has the better players.

The best players on the pitch by a street were Norwood and Hogg IMO

That figure will include non attending season tickets and the like. Do they still dish out freebies to schools as they'd be included as well?

My mate went on a freebie, fuck knows how she got one (not like she has kids at school in Bolton or anything) but they must be dishing them out to all and sundry

It's hard work watching that served up week after week at home. 1 win at the Reebok by early December is abysmal, especially given who we've played up to now. I wish Dougie was as good as he thinks he is. All this 'I'm trying to educate the fans' bullshit is really starting to grate. Yes, he's tightened things up at the back (tho why swap it about tonight - was Baptiste injured? If so, why on the bench?), but this sitting deep letting the opposition come at us doesn't make for exciting, attacking football. Call me old fashioned, but isn't it better to stop the opposition having the ball and for them to worry about what we might do with it?

Spearing and Medo together don't do it for me... Spearing looks like a different player to last season - like his much less talented twin brother (let's call it the Alonso syndrome). Hardly found a white shirt for most of the match but never in danger of being subbed. Moritz looks like an impact sub, a bit like Ngog...except he didn't make much of an impact. All in all, pretty shite. And can't believe people grumbling about the crowd...15,500 is a very good turnout to watch that...less than 11 on at high flying Burnley, 12 at Birmingham.

Freedman had already made three subs when we put knight up top. I'm also pretty sure he won the flick on when Beckford volleyed wide.

Just thought I'd point that out.

We missed our chances and they scored a thirty yard screamer. That's basically what happened.

Freedmans tactics are to stop the opposition creating clear chances . We lost to boro becabuse of a penalty and lost today because if a thirty yard screamer. Both those games we missed chances.

These three things won't happen every game.

But quite often we won't score

No chance there were actually that many on

It looked about the same as most other games this season from where I was sitting - and they brought over 1300. Like I say, more than they've any right to expect. And there was no grumbling round me in the North stand, just some boos at full time.

I have watched bolton for 50 years now and to be honest am now watching the most dire football ever

In my time we have played soon good football some excellent football and some shite football but don't think I have ever seen some shite games as I do now

For fucks sake doogie these last ten mins show how frightened teams can be when we attack them with a passion

At home lets do it all the game

And putting your centre half up front at the end od the match is something lower division teams do in the fa cup this is not something we should be doing even though nite got a belting flick on late on

4 sitters missed?

We only need to finish 4th from bottom ?
