Big Sam

Talks about his future and rumours of losing the dressing room.

Expect him gone by end of today. Expect the 'get him back to Bolton' threads to start minutes after.

Sam did change everything and I recall he did start the youth system, he was responsible for the planning of the Lostcok site although with delays he never saw it happen.

I disagree that he is to old, he will still be trying the latest ideas but can't see the Appy Ammers being that clued up. Bolton was very much a testing ground for lots of things when he arrived, so why wouldn't that happen again.

It's a real no brainer to welcome him back, although I can't see it happening.

No brainer... Day 1 "Phil, I want some cash", "there is none", "fuck it, I'm off to a bigger club (again)".

This cash thing is bollocks, he had been shown to have been a bit more careful with the cash than recent managers.

He did ask for more money and was promised it but when the club didn't match his ambitions he left, I doubt if there aren't many more who would have stayed under those circumstances.

"Not sure what your point is"

So your saying that one player was enough, and as I recall that wasn't a bad deal for us

Sam's next club will probably be Grasshoppers.

so he can be reunited with his cash?

I've seen enough from him to maybe think that he's been told to keep is up this year, and kick on from there.

I'd be amazed if that was the goal at the start of the season.

Brilliant Satan

Get out of THAT Sam lovers.

Get out of what? He took West ham up a couple of seasons ago, so unless he's lost interest since then, i'm not sure why he wouldn't still have the 'desire and impetus' he had when he took us up.

Sam wanted lots more money, the Board said he could have some but nowhere near what he wanted so he moved on and spent £6m on Alan Smith.

These are facts.

Davies refused to give Allardyce the necessary money, Bolton were 5th in the Premier League when he resigned, then let Megson spend £40 million over 2 years and are now 18th in the second tier.

It probably wasn't at the start if the season, but I would imagine expectations have now been changed and survival is his new remit. Sadly I guess we'll never be privy to what his targets are or are not. I'm sure that promotion is always the primary target, but it don't know what his targets are with regards to reducing the wage bill. I wouldn't be surprised if his target was promotion, whilst further reducing the wage bill......which is always going to be a tricky thing for anybody to do.....and at present, neither of those things appear to be happening.

Was there not also a dramatic change/increase in TV Revenues in that time period as well?

Not that is matters, it's not guaranteed that had Allardyce been given £20M that we would now be a CL regular side, we might still be where we are, or indeed in an even worse place financially

absolutely spot on

Look at the accounts to see the reduction of over £15M in the wage bill.

I know that we've reduced it by a lot, but it needs to be coming down by another £15M at least I would thought

So given money he would have sign Alan smith and Joey Barton ?

I bet you tut in the pub when when stories come on the news about this club or that club having had 5 managers in 4 seasons.

I'm not saying freedman is perfect, far from it. But I am sick to fuck of seeing different clowns picking the team.

I've seen enough from him to maybe think that he's been told to keep is up this year, and kick on from there.

If we want a perfect manager, we can pick the phone up to Stamford Bridge and ask if your namesake fancies a dramatic change of direction.

In the real world, I honestly cannot think of anyone I would be happy to see replace him who is REALISTICALLY likely to. That includes Sam Allardyce.

I already know your response, so don't bother, by the way.

His remit for last and this season is promotion. His pre season comments were that this season we would go for automatic promotion. Neither of which falls into the 'keep us up this year and kick on' brief which you're touting. With this in mind, and taking into consideration everything I've already stated, I struggle to understand your comments about seeing something that evidently isn't there.

why do you think allardyce wouldn't have been allowed to spend that 40 million if hed been decent enough to wait a few months?

would you care to guess fattys reaction when told he had to sell anelka and nolan to part fund the spend, thus reducing the net spend to 10 million a year

about the same allardyce spent in his last year, oddly enough

Right, since you won't give up, tell the class what you'd do if you were in charge of the club

Since you are obviously so fucking smart.

Sack Freedman and get Guardiola in, then build a 50K capacity stadium in Bolton town centre and then sign Ronaldo, Messi and Suarez.

I've got ambition you see!

Give up what? I've given you facts and intentions put on the record. You're the one with grand statements, base it on something tangible.

You're good at saying what you think is wrong

How would YOU put it right?

Thinking hard about that response Jose?

50k? Get your checkbook out and build a proper stadium you tight bastard. CWP out!!!
