gonzo Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Like it or not, and I know some don't, he is clearly the best Manager that this club has had in the modern era. CLearly he left becuase he wanted to go on to bigger and better things, as it happens he's not managed to do that....by virute of the fact that he's never finished higher in the league than he did with Bolton, and he hasn't reached any other cup finals or qualified for Europe. So whilst it was as good as were going to get with him in charge......we were as good as it was ever going to get for him. Both parties have seen their "stock" diminish since they were together. Havign said that, I don't think that bringing him back would propel us to the glory days that we once had. All very true you vulgar little man. Like many have said before, that horse has bolted. He found a unique way to get success at the right club at the right time. Everyone else cottoned on to his ideas and philosophy's. I used to hate it when others clubs fans etc used to call him a one trick pony, but I'm now inclined to agree its exactly what he is. I do believe if he stays in the game after West Ham he could achieve relative success at the right club,a promoted team or such like. Is rather keep him in my memory as the best manager we've had In the modern and likely to ever have. He was Mr Bolton Wanderers for quite some time and rightly so,il be telling my grandkids about the legend he is in many years to come that's for certain. Feel sorry for the "fat walrus head" brigade to be honest...if you can't look back at your greatest ever days as a Bolton fan with anything but praise for these in charge of it,then it's a sorry state of affairs. Zico Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 He walked away didn't he? What, in your opinion, should Gartside have done to prevent it? they would have to have given him the money to buy Alan Smith and not mocked him/listened to him when he came up with proposals for raising more money, such as increasing ticket prices both I believe were key in his decision to move on Quote

MalcolmW Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 West Ham have issued a statement from the co-chairmen. First priority - get injured players fit. Second priority - to bring in new talent to bolster the team - "We are pleased to confirm we are close to securing one of our key striking targets. A defender is high on the list of priorities as well and progress is being made on that front". Quote
gonzo Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Said on the wireless before they came close to signing Lego Head from City in the summer bit it fell through because city had injury doubts. They may go for him again. They have also been linked with Rodger Johnson...rolfcopterz Quote

I would of thought getting a striker in would be their priority though, unless Carroll is finally going to get fit Quote
no balls Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 wasn't there a story that gartside pinned the team sheet up on the door and said if you wanna do my job, Ill do yours or summat along them lines? there's a poster on here had a similar conversation with him Quote

Danny G Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 He got the dreaded vote of confidence today gone by next week! Quote
MalcolmW Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 He got the dreaded vote of confidence today gone by next week! A youthful team against Forest 0-5. OK A slightly stronger team v City 0-4? ok Defeat at Cardiff next weekend would make relegation rather more likely. On the other hand a victory with some returning first teamers would be a real boost. (And Nolan's still suspended) Quote

Carlos Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 I can't think of a single reason why anyone over the age of 20 would read BA, let alone post on there. Quote
