Casino Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Or does your company protect themselves from you doing that? Surely it's the fault of the person who should have protected BWFC from him doing so? ah, good old restraint of trade Quote
Garrp Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Devil's advocate. Why did Sam take backroom staff & players when he left? Would you not take your best staff/clients with you if you moved jobs? Or does your company protect themselves from you doing that? Surely it's the fault of the person who should have protected BWFC from him doing so? In which case we don't give him the gentlemans agreement that he can walk away for free ensuring we don't get a penny compensation from Newcastle. Quote
glossopWANDERER Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I would drive him back up to Bolton myself. What happened in the past is water under the bridge. The only question that should be asked is, is he is a better qualified manager than the current one he would be replacing and the answer is an easy one. Yes Quote

Carlos Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 It's unfortunate we won't be able to test that theory out next season, as WHU in the Championship = Fat Sam sacked. I wonder if it was "our" medical staff that said Andy Carroll was 3 weeks away from playing, 6 months ago? Quote
DazBob Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 The prospect of West Ham being in the same division as Leyton Orient next season is an amusing one. Quote

As I say Garpp, devil's advocate. There's no such thing as a gentleman's agreement, it's as legally binding as a pinky promise. Not everyone's moral compass will be set as well as yours. He may have pulled off a cunts trick but the world is full of cunts & you should protect your interests accordingly. Do you blame a murderer for pulling the trigger or do you blame the gunsmith for selling the gun? Quote

Zico Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 If you read the comments on a West Ham board and substitute the words Sam Allardyce for Dougie Freedman, you'll find they're saying exactly the same things about Sam as some are saying about Dougie. 'Tactically inept' 'lost the dressing room' 'too negative' etc and so on so forth. how many are saying it's not his team, he needs to shift big earners, but look what he did at Bolton and it's Avram Grant's fault? Quote
radcliffe white Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Crazy this I don't know who's worse, the get fucked fat Sam brigade or people who think he would come back I don't just mean on here. He was meant to be one of us though, which I guess is a big part of the reason some want him back? 10 or however many years as a player 10 years managers contract Eddie, Gartside and every single fan put him before the club and ourselves and got right behind him for the England job. The panorama bung case, we all stood behind him. I rememeber Satan going to Pompey on a Monday night Sky game with a t-shirt he had made in support of him. All these things he got as he was one of us yet he still couldn't leave in the correct way and show us the same respect we always gave him he's a fat walrus potato headed cunt who biggest attribute is his fucking ego, he doesn't give a flying fuck about anything other than Sam Allardyce which is absolutely fine, it means he can fuck off away from bwfc though Quote

only1swanny Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 If bolton get a transfer embargo. It will be an ideal job for pure management. No buying your way out and having to get the best out of what players you have. Would you rather have Dougie or Sam in that situation. Dougie has already proved he can't do this. Quote

wanderer13 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Couldn't care less if Sam was a nice guy or not, or what he did before or after he was employed by Bolton. Fact is he is one of the best managers the club has ever had and we enjoyed the best period of football under him. The way people bleet on like a jilted bridesmaid is embarrassing. He was the manager of a football club not an ex wife FFS Quote

Guest Blixa Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 They hate Sam because he used to manage at the likes of Bolton and Blackburn. They expect better. They won the World Cup for the country you know. Quote
Casino Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Fact is he is one of the best managers the club has ever had absolutely true doesn't mean you have to want him back my ojection is nowt to do with his ego or owt else he's done i just can't see it being a success and he's a cnut Quote

The issue stems from the fact that after Gartside accepted Sams resignation, the condition was that he would not return to club to poach the best staff, This however was only a Gentlemens agreement, i dont think it would be possible to enforce it officially Quote
