A promotion and a League Cup semi-final in the last three seasons...

If West Ham's squad isn't strong enough to cope with the league and cups, someone has bought VERY badly.

They've spent good money on some pretty average players. And that's before you go into the Andy Carroll deal.

Fuck off, Parkinson made the final. Credit where credit is due.

...and when he takes Bradford to the Premier League, he can claim to have achieved what Allardyce has done twice.

Shirley they can keep putting it down to Andy Carroll? It will be a surprise as hes never played a full season in his career. BSA was always a square leg in a round hole there.

08-09: 42 appearances for Newcastle

11-12: 47 appearances for Liverpool

12-13: 2 appearances for Liverpool (not wanted by Ridgers) followed by 24 on loan at West Ham.

Good idea

Lets get Phil Parkinson then

09-10?

10-11?

Cherry picking seasons to support a particular line of argument Malc? Go stand on the statistical naughty step.

Indeed, the figures may also be wrong for 08-09 season as well......

08-09 Season: 16 appearances / 3 goals

09-10 Season: 42 appearances / 19 goals

10-11 Season: 29 appearances / 13 goals (20 apps for Newcastle & 9 for Liverpool)

11-12 Season: 47 appearances / 9 goals

12-13 Season: 26 appearances / 7 goals (2 apps for Liverpool, 24 for West Ham)

13-14 Season: 0

Appearances are for all league and cup games

All the clubs in the Premier managed by the Dudley Fuckwitt have been relegated within 2 years of his leaving, West Ham are next.

Keep that idiot away from the Reebok at all costs.

Maybe all of them shouldnt have sacked him then, as he left with them in the Prem

Should never have been allowed to part company.

He walked away didn't he?

What, in your opinion, should Gartside have done to prevent it?

It's not "cherry picking" to quote two seasons with over 40 appearances to contradict a false assertion that "he has never played a full season in his career".

[but it would have helped if I had quoted the seasons correctly.]

Me too.

Me three

And for the record I'm sure we were not relegated within 2 seasons of Sam leaving???

A season with sammy lee & Megson

A season with Megson

A season with Megson and Coyle

A season with Coyle

Greatest manager in our history. Should never have been allowed to part company. Made for each other.

Like it or not, and I know some don't, he is clearly the best Manager that this club has had in the modern era. CLearly he left becuase he wanted to go on to bigger and better things, as it happens he's not managed to do that....by virute of the fact that he's never finished higher in the league than he did with Bolton, and he hasn't reached any other cup finals or qualified for Europe. So whilst it was as good as were going to get with him in charge......we were as good as it was ever going to get for him. Both parties have seen their "stock" diminish since they were together. Havign said that, I don't think that bringing him back would propel us to the glory days that we once had.

Whilst our time under Allardyce was our most successful for generations he'd been after a bigger job for a while.

Our finances at the time meant he couldnt be given the money wanted (he still signed Gerald Fooking Cid)

Plus he was shagging Mrs Gartside (allegedly)

Once Sam had made his choice there was little Fat Phil could do bar moving on quickly.
