kent_white Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Sack Freedman and get Guardiola in, then build a 50K capacity stadium in Bolton town centre and then sign Ronaldo, Messi and Suarez. I've got ambition you see! 50k? Get your checkbook out and build a proper stadium you tight bastard. CWP out!!! Quote
mourinho Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 You're good at saying what you think is wrong How would YOU put it right? And you're good at making sweeping statements that have no basis in fact, which if you go back to my original comment, you'll see I was referring to. Quit the capslock fukwittery, and back your claims up, as well as how your insight differs from the published aims of the board. Quote

Danny G Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Davies refused to give Allardyce the necessary money, Bolton were 5th in the Premier League when he resigned, then let Megson spend £40 million over 2 years and are now 18th in the second tier. These are more facts. Sam wanted the cash to spend during the 2007 January Transfer window, he wanted 3 players thus spending 12 million and insisted that if he got those he would get us into the Champions league. Gartside refused as we didnt have that money at that point, however Sam was promised that same amount of cash to spend during the Summer when we would have got the next installment of the Sky TV money. Gartside really fucked up with a little snide comment to Allardyce at the time, " I could give you 20 million and you wouldnt get us in the Champions League" It was meant in jest meaning that the difference between the 4th and 5th place clubs is usually huge. Sam took this as a personal dig by Gartside and blatant lack of ambition by the club and the rest is history. As for the other 40 million that was spent, this was largely down to the New Sky deal that kicked in circa 2008 Quote
Spider Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 You should feel silly if you think his remit for this season was just to keep us up. Situations change Every team probably thinks they should go up before the season starts I'm a bit more realistic, and can see that though the plan isn't working out yet, doesn't mean we have to clear everyone out and start all over, midway through a season. The remit as of Jan 1st is to push on and see if we can possibly make the play offs. No great shakes if we don't because if we did go up I suspect we are not ready. Maybe I'm just too old and patient. Maybe a see something in Freedman that suggests he's got what it takes in the long term. I'm certainly sick of impatient cunts who can shout at the top of their voices he should be sacked, but cannot some up with a single realistic alternative. Quote
COYW Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Situations change What has changed since the start of the season? He will have known what the pre-season targets were and he will have known what he had in terms of squad and budget in order to achieve those targets. Quote

bgoefc Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Brilliant Satan Get out of THAT Sam lovers. Erm get out of what? I agree with everything satan has said, but i still stand by my conviction that if he were to come back (and he probably wont) he is a far better manager than any of the three that followed him and he would still have this current team more organised, more together and would get better results. hughmungus Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 That story could only have come from the Allardyce camp and we all know as we know you cannot take Craig's word on anything. Why is it a story, sounds like fact to me. If it's a story then let us all in on the source matter as I doubt it exists. Quote

Yes. It's usual practice to change the manager rather than changing the pre-season targets halfway through the season, assuming of course that the target was promotion this season. Quote

Spider Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 (edited) Jesus! What an absolute bell. I reckon if you added your mental age to actual age it wouldn't be a problem for a 4yr old to reckon up.You'll make me blush, do I really look that young? If we are lowering ourselves to insults, and since we are basing them on internet posts, then I "reckon" if we added your iq to your choice of username, all we'd be left with is a condensed bowl of primordial soup. A tortured portion of misaligned molecules screaming for validation. "Look at me!!" screams the soup, "stop ignoring me, validate my existence, your approval makes me breath" But eventually, everybody turns away and loses interest, the soup is, after all, just some soup. There are more interesting collections of molecules somewhere else, more evolved, with heads and eyes and feet and thumbs and things. In the end, the soup gets poured in a grid. As it floats away amongst the turds and piss and tampons, it's tears mix with the sewage and on one harrowing, final primal scream it declares "Spider is thick, with, like, a wet chin full of dribble. So ha ha haaaaaaa ohh God no there are condoms mixing into my soup" Am I close? Edited January 4, 2014 by Spider Quote

Seabiscuit Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 why do you think allardyce wouldn't have been allowed to spend that 40 million if hed been decent enough to wait a few months? would you care to guess fattys reaction when told he had to sell anelka and nolan to part fund the spend, thus reducing the net spend to 10 million a year about the same allardyce spent in his last year, oddly enough I think Davies had the money at the time but put his personal dislike of Sam Allardyce before the good of the football club. Allardyce put up with Bolton selling Gudjohnsen to Chelsea and made Bolton stronger, i think he would have done the same with Anelka.Nolan would have stayed if Allardyce stayed Quote
Casino Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 allardyce at the time eidur went felt he owed bolton something when he left he thought bolton owed him why did davies dislike fatty enough to not fund the business then? and whether nolan would have left or not, it adds up to a 10 million pound a year outlay under megson same as under allardyce Quote
Danny G Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 That story could only have come from the Allardyce camp and we all know as we know you cannot take Craig's word on anything. Nope from the sports psychologist who was part of the backroom team he does a lot of work at my company and I know him fairly well. Plus the owner of the place where I work was on the board at bolton until 2007 Quote
