Guest Blixa Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 campo as coach Yeah, he's got a great track record on that front. Quote
Zico Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 (edited) One of the greatest defenders in Spanish history, Fernando Hierro, has signalled his intention to coach in the A-League - and could bring legendary striker Raul Gonzalez with him. Hierro has not coached at the elite level before but has completed his coaching education and is keen to cut his teeth in a new market. With 89 internationals caps to his name, Hierro was revered in world football not only for his pristine defending but his unusually high scoring tally, amassing more than 100 league goals and 29 international goals Maybe we could entice him back after all We're not in the a league though Am sure the weather and money are a factor for raul as well, we have neither Edited February 13, 2014 by ZicoKelly Quote
COYW Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Paul Clement on Talk Sport tonight said he'd like to move into management. If we were going to appoint an unproven manager, he'd be an interesting shout. Quote
superkev Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 He's very highly regarded as a coach. Remember What happened last time we had a highly regarded coach as manager. Quote

If we were going to appoint an unproven manager, he'd be an interesting shout. Characteristics of our next manager should be experience, charisma, great knowledge of transfer market, hard nosed, can generate respect, an unproven man with zero experience is exactly what we don't need. Maybe not, but are we now in a position to attract anyone better, or has that ship sailed? Quote
Sweep Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 but are we now in a position to attract anyone better, or has that ship sailed? It all depends on if you think being Manager of Bolton Wanderers is still a great job to have. Mounts would probably suggest that quite a few football managers would be falling over themselves to be manager of our club and would view it as a great job, as that's how he thinks and he sees beyond the current issues we have. Anewman would probbaly suggest that nobody in the world would want to work for such a shit club and shit chairman, as that's the way he thinks. I think the truth is probably somewhere inbetween in reality. Quote
Casino Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 we haven't ever been in a position to attract somebody with all 5 ffs, allardyce only had 3 Quote
Pie Eater Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I don't think any new/up and coming managers would risk fucking up their reputation by joining an ongoing car crash, more likely to get an old hand who's already established a reputation and one bad job won't make much difference to it Quote
Traf Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Remember What happened last time we had a highly regarded coach as manager. I do, but as Ancelotti's right hand man, I'd expect him to have a bit more about him. Quote
COYW Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I don't think any new/up and coming managers would risk fucking up their reputation by joining an ongoing car crash I'm not sure they're in a position to be that choosy to be honest. Not to mention that they would probably have enough confidence in their own ability to turn things around. Quote
bolty58 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 how would that happen? Figuratively speaking - living in Bury doesn't automatically mean that you have to act the pillock. Quote
bolty58 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Right, been all the way through this thread and the most startling disclosure for me is that Casino thinks DF keeping us up is success? FFS, when did the goalposts move? I am certain that when we took him on, 'keeping us up' wasn't the main goal. Hang on, it's Casino. As a famous man once said, 'retain the essential, discard the non-essential'. Quote
mickbrown Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I have no idea who Paul Clement is. And given my general apathy at the moment I can't even be arsed googling. Quote

FFS, when did the goalposts move? if i said it was a success, i didn't mean it to be that way so, i'll put it another way relegation would be abject failure i'll tolerate staying up for this year and give him more time now, even you shouldn't be able to misconstrue that Edited February 14, 2014 by Casino Quote

oggybwfc Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Yes. I dread to think what he would do if the "Fans" got on his back. Quote
only1swanny Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 last season, promotion was the goal post beginning of this season promotion was the goal post again.. shit happens right now staying up is the goal post... Quote
Traf Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 is he daves lad? He is. He was assisting Steve Kean at Blackburn, then Ancelotti took him to PSG! He then went to Madrid. Quote
COYW Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 He started off coaching the youngsters at Chelsea, where first crossed paths with Ancelotti. Quote
