Probably my least favourite of the away days in Europe, Madrid I found to be a horrible place - I certainly won't rush back there.

you obviously didn't visit naturbier on plaza santa ana

if i could only go in one more bar in my life, that would be it

ale brewed on the premises and pour your own service in the cellar

seriously, if anybody goes back, you must sup there

Depends which part of Madrid you're talking about. Around Sol Square was pretty grotty but i wouldn't say that was representative of the city. The Metro was great as well.

Great for getting dipped on, aye, brilliant.

sounds like the departed, is there a real infiltrator at atletico as well?

Not to sure. It was in Wsc I think I read and I was fascinated to find this fella was given the time of day let alone allowed to lead the youth, who are far more radical than the older lot from all accounts.

In my Mid 20's with my best mates having time of our lifes in Madrid. morning after phone ringing in my mother are you ok seen it on the news etc.

Mate went to bar and doubled up at 7.30 and kick off was at 7.45 ended up in taxi dropped off about 100meters all looked ok, turned a corner and just riot police everywhere, didn't even get my ticket checked.

Day after ended up at the Bodies exhibition. I do remember a street in the city centre full of hookers right next to the police station.

I was a mess the day after, mixing beer with the painkillers the local quack gave me sent me a long way west...

Wouldn't have missed it for the world though, despite Madrid being a shithole

Is it a good time to confess I think it was me who spilt that can of lager on MR58's flag?

We had a travel club wench shout down to us to sit down. Aye, when this copper moves from in front us, love

Then she started shouting to our lads to behave without seeing what was really going on

I politely suggested she stay at home on our next away

Can't wait for a fortnight when the Sporting one starts.

Loads of brass outside McDonalds on that same road and all, police didn't seem remotely arsed

Great trip I didn't run once

:D

Haha!

Best tale ever.

Apart from the Argentinian bloke talking in Beatles song of course. Haha

Great trip, all the areas you got warned about to stay away from off BWFC,i went.

Great weekend do

Dago restauranteur tried to rip us off. No chance, no matter how pissed.

Arrived at kick off and saw nothing

Great meal and karaoke the night after

Wouldn't rush back

Got there on really cheap flights but had to go via Malaga. 6 Hours in Malaga airport bar with the sun on us while it was raining and snowing back home was a great way to start the trip.

6 hours on Malaga airport on the way back was somewhat less enjoyable.

Saw some grim sights outside the stadium afterwards, medics did an absolutely shit job on my cousin's baton-split head with a staple gun.

Seem to remember Jules Darby buying us all lap dances, got chatting to some other lads in there as well, presumed they were Bolton, turned out they were a couple of Gary cahill's mates from Sheffield who saw his euro games as an excuse for lads trips away

I took the then 14 year old Junior Wiggum.  What was I thinking!

He thought it was ace, he got to drink beer and everything

I had to explain to his school that the trip had cultural significance and that it would broaden his experience.  Well I got that bit right!
