March 2, 201412 yr Wrong. People were kicking off for letting Craig Davies go when we had one,yes one fit striker on the books, not because they thought he was a good player. Going into games with one striker upfront with non on the bench was football suicide. The signing of the juke looked completely baffling and I didn't see one person on here or elsewhere saying he was going to be the next Kevin Davies. As if happens.its worked out just fine...but nobody at the time would have predicted that. Lets not pretend all this has been some grand master plan. The tinkering has paid off finally that's all. except freedman, eh? unfortunately, too many folk seem to think its as simple as a couple of clicks of a mouse button tinkering...or getting together the right blend of players having to wait for the fitness of mark davies getting ngog off the wage bill anyway, you can believe its luck, i'll believe it has plenty to do with his signings of medo, spearing, juke, danns and mason feeney and mcnaughton both improved us his getting something out of ream and mills the fitness of mark davies anyway, we can all believe what we want all i ever said was i wanted to see it play out i'm more optimistic now that i'll get that chance

March 2, 201412 yr It's well documented that Dougie likes to play Italian style football, sit deep & hit on the break. At Palace he had 2 good quick wingers, a goal machine & a top defensive midfielder with which to do just that. Maybe he thought he had the players here to do the same when he arrived? My one big gripe would be its taken him far too long to realise he hasn't & to change things accordingly. We always look a much better team taking the game to the opposition no matter what the line up is imho

Two decent wins doesn't all of a sudden prove all the doubters wrong and make Dougie Freedman a football genius. Maybe I've had my fingers burnt too many times recently to get overly confident after two home wins.

If we go on a brilliant run between now and the end of the season we might scrape a mid-table finish which is still a pretty shit season so let's hold off on ordering that Dougie statue

Two swallows don't make a summer and two decent results don't make Freedman a good manager. He's saved himself from the sack for now, nothing more... if we go on another of our ridiculous winning streaks like last season then I'll be more convinced that it's finally clicked
