That 96/97 season will be a special season for all Wanderers fans who were around at the time. What a way to mark the end of football at Burnden, blitzing the division, some great football, loads of goals and a scrap with the dog heads.

All the very best Toddy. Man City away clinching the title us one my best days watching football. We played some great football under him and if we went one down nobody cared because we knew we would score and usually win.

We were a better team than Everton that season. They derserved the drop not us.

Remember one 45 mins against Huddersfield was probably the best I've ever seen from a Bolton team.

 

Used to live on the same street as him. Didn't do much conversation but nice fella. His wife is lovely. Get well soon Colin.

You do wonder what would have happened - if we'd have kicked on or dropped the next season. Would have probably meant no Allardyce era too.

My uncle used to take Colin with his dad to watch his elder brother play for Bishop Auckland.

He has just entered a nursing home this year, where he celebrated his 99th birthday.

Hopfully Colin can come through the op in a stronger condition than he is now.
