Brannigan if I remember correctly.... ive got a doubt now you've mentioned Small...

Memory is fading Matt....

Comes to us all :)

...and not a single red card. Can you imagine that happening nowadays? There would be FA charges flying left, right and centre.

Not even any bookings! Though it would have taken all afternoon to write them down, unless he just wrote "everyone except Small".

Think we both got fined though after a FA investigation....

I remember the Wolves supporters trying to get on the pitch at half-time to attack Lofty when he started to wind them up.

I'd only been to a few games, but as a budding 8-year old 97/98 was my proper first season as a white. I recall several brawls that season. Didn't Taggart increase his ban to eight matches after punching Craig Forrest? Blake vs Pallister, Andy Todd twatting Collymore etc.

Anyway, having seen the Youtube videos thread, our defending in Coventry's 5-1 mauling of us at the Reebok was absolutely horrifying. Have we even played Cov since?

Wishing Col all the very best!

I went to every home and away cup and league match the season Colin Todd left us,the only one I've ever done, and remember going absolutely mental in the office ripping down the fixture list and away match tickets stuck all around it, Per Frandsen to Blackburn too, what was the club thinking?

It didn't turn out that bad and we got Frandsen back, but like has been said, what a good hard team we had. Get well soon Mr Todd :)

Taggart was more pinning Forrest down by his throat. Forrest had flicked his leg or summat trivial.

Someone post the "Blake's on his way" photo from Battle of Burnden!

I remember his justification on MOTD in his post match interview - something like "I didn't hit him, I just grabbed his throat"

Fucking love that picture.

Don't really like all the comparison bollocks, but fuck me our team today isn't fit to lace that lots boots.

Fearsome....every single one em.

Ha that number 2 for Wolves

The look on his face that he was about to go toe to toe with Pollock or Taggart

I know what you saying but I wouldn't call that pussy Scott Sellars fearsome, probably he was fearsome of getting hurt..

All the best for Colin Todd & his operation / recovery

It was right in front of us in the away end; mad Gerry picked up Forrest (6ft 8!) by his throat

There's a similar rugby anecdote you often hear at sportsmen's dinners.

2 teams are playing a grudge match when suddenly the opposing packs start a massive free for all. All the backs rush to join in except the 2 full backs. When the dust finally settles the referee calls over the captains and sends off the 2 full backs, when asked why he says "for cowardice".

Well it's funny with a few drinks inside you.

same here on front row that day 3-0 I think

I remember SJM and the Villa goalie having a polite kick about during the mass brawl when Todd lamped Collymore.

Unless my young mind imagined it.

What a great day that was.

Ive still got the brawl on VHS somewhere, Chris Fairclough lands a couple of absolute pearlers.  It had also kicked off in the away game earlier in the season with a mini brawl. Darren Ferguson got sent off for it ande that had set the tone for this game. SJM winding the Wolves fans up in the warm up as he came out on his own late and ran about at the away end waving to them.

First game of the season, away to Port Vale, Toddy first off the bus grabs my daughter's autograph book and signs it. She said" I wanted the Danes' autographs" He replied "I was better than both of them".

Top man, all the better for the getting rid of McFarland. I can still see him putting Ward on at shitty Tranmere in the 92nd minute and everyone shouting WTF.

Get well soon toddy great memories
