April 24, 201412 yr I had a few of those text based games. Didn't have a clue what commands to use, so I never got out of the first fucking room. I think I picked up a cup once, and that was about it. There was one, "The Neverending Story" - was more like "The Never Fucking Beginning Story", I think I picked up a 'star' in the first setting and went North and that was it, got to a tower and couldn't do owt else... This was especially shit as this and Daley Thompson's Supertest were the only two games that came (with my Spectrum) from Dixons via Father Christmas's sack. I like to think that was it and they'd (the programmers) had conned a few thousand quid out of Ocean. Edited April 24, 201412 yr by Youri McAnespie
April 24, 201412 yr Can't beat Chuckie Egg, especially when the big yellow bird got out of the cage. Other favourites included Warlock of Firetop Mountain, Lemmings, Hunchback, Jet Set Willy and Kick Off
April 24, 201412 yr Warlock of Firetop Mountain, That was my favourite Fighting Fantasy book. Can't remember the computer game version.
April 24, 201412 yr Anyone remember Another World on the Amiga? Absolutely incredible game at the time.

April 24, 201412 yr aye i had a copied version but it was pre cracking so had a problem Pre-cracking! Fuck off, you must have been a lamer. Groups like Skid Row, Tristar Red Sector, Fairlight, Paradox, Razor 911 etc. were active on C64, I was removing security on the Speccy so I could put stuff onto Microdrive.
April 24, 201412 yr My mate (who now works on games himself) would download them on a HST modem the day they were released, quid a disk, kerching.
April 24, 201412 yr Anyone remember Another World on the Amiga? Absolutely incredible game at the time. What was the sequel called? One of the few games I finished.
April 24, 201412 yr All my Amiga games were copied. Think I only bought three. It was as easy as copying a cassette if I remember.
April 24, 201412 yr Read a story today that Andy Warhol did a load of art on an Amiga and they've only just found it and managed to convert it.
April 24, 201412 yr I once had a game that whilst loading, let you play space invaders. I remember thinking it'll never get any better than this. I also recall that if you pressed escape while games were loading, you could get into the programming, look for some text, and then replace it with rude words to much comedy effect.

April 24, 201412 yr What was the sequel called? One of the few games I finished. You're probably thinking of Flashback, but it was't really a sequel. Basically a very good rip-off.
April 24, 201412 yr I think I lost a year of my life playing worms and mario kart at uni. Worms 2 provided me with sounds to have on my desktop to replace the usual bings and bongs.
April 24, 201412 yr Jesus, 'customizing' your desktop and assigning bespoke sounds to events... It seems like an aeon ago... In ten years kids won't believe regular people used to build their own computers.
