"Victim A" was a childhood friend of his daughter. When, in 1997, she asked him for a donation of £25,000 to a bird sanctuary (which the defence say was blackmail), she told him that she had felt obliged.... and that she had never consented. He wrote a letter of apology to her father (presumably an old friend of his). This was read out in court on Friday as part of the setting out of the prosecution case. He claims she was "of age" at the outset - she claims she was 13 or 14 at the time. Wait and see. Quote
