My and my mates girlfriends are all doing it while we get pissed ha

I'm doing it- or at least attempting to.

(Will have to save my drinking for tomorrow, and say no to sitting in a beer garden all day today!)

I saw that god bothering long jumper that commentates yesterday. True story.

My mrs and her lot doing it too

Be warned it was heaving last time and we struggled to squeeze on to the train on the way there (nearly missed the race)

Hopefully not be much hotter, running in heat is tough

Would I do you think or does he look a bit too God bothery still? I've wondered

He had very nice grey hair, was my immediate thought. You'd be all over him like a cheap track suit.

Yes mate weather was mental last year 70 degrees and so busy with 35k runners. This year's there is 40k doing it..Did it in 55 mins last year.Fastest ever is 48 mins.Be happy to get under 55 as only 2 months off 45 years of age so old now .Entered Great North for second time in September and Great Birmingham in October.Love my running and one day my body will tell me I can't do it anymore.Good to see 2500 kids 3-15 years old running the Junior manchester today at Heaton Park.Hats off to the parents getting them involved as they are the future of running when we can't do it anymore. Not only that important to get the kids doing exercise/running.

Runs down my street since I've moved. I'll show my support by not launching sacks of warm piss at fellow wanderers.

Good luck btw

My sons doing it.

My mrs is doing it. Going watching with the nipper. Is going to be a nightmare with him in the pram?

The mrs and Mrs Meldrew are doing as are my lad and me.

I' m going to shatter my personal best but I'm still hoping for a decent run.

Not me, I wore the home number from 2004/5 ish. Finished 5144th in a time of 52:09, 10 seconds ahead of my lad - not that I'm gloating or owt. :)

I bet you ran all the way with your lad and then sprinted off and left him in the last 200 yards, didn't you? :D

Twasn't like that as my sprinting days are well and truly over. :). We ran separately as he thought he'd do it in under 50 mins, My estimate was not as ambitious.

Ran it in 59.19.Wanted to get under 55 but glad to get around in under an hour in that heat.Fair play to you mate.Great time.Fab day out and brilliant atmosphere.

I'm gonna do it next year. Gonna drop 2 stone and do it

I ran 9 miles yesterday, fuck me it was hard

Cutting your legs off?

Managed 58:26. Piss poor really and to make it worse maude beat me by nearly five minutes and young un by 30 secs, so I've lost the family title i won at the Great North Run. Did it in 56:56 last year and did a sub 53 in March. Could have blamed the 23C heat but simply felt unfit. Doing the Keswick 11K trail run in two weeks.

First one I have done, 49:03 and was certainly ready for a beer after

more chance of me seeing my dick and potentially using it within 12 months :D
