Oh, and whilst it's easy to criticise a defence for letting three in, we do concede a hell of a lot of goals for team with two experienced defensive midfielders in front of the back four.

It's a marathon not a sprint. I'm sure super Dougie will sort this out and we will be reet with Mark Davies, Wheater and new striker (s). Yesterday was terrible mind, with Zat Knight style defending especially the 3rd goal. Watford are going to score lots of goals this season.

We have been defensively poor for at least 3yrs now.

He still gets ten games before I even consider demanding a change.

Super Dougie will have a plan, but he can't use it because we are skint as folk on here keep reminding us all.

 

Its early days yet but I was one who couldn't see any consistency with his set ups during pre season. If, and its a massive If with bells on, he is waiting for a couple of players to agree to come to us then he needs to get on the phone to them this morning and sign them up. It has been clear even to the most ardent rose tinters that this squad has shortcomings that should have been sorted last season.

 

I'm not in the fire em all group yet, and this division is wide open for anyone who puts a run of 6 games together, but to do it we need to get the players doing what they have been told and not standing around looking at the floor when it goes wrong.

 

Super Dougie will sort it, and I am sure he will be winning Manager of the Months soon.

Medo was watford's best pressing midfield player who put spearing under pressure when he got on the ball.

His ball retention and range of passing was terrible.

The writing was on the wall from when we played Deeney in after ten seconds. Not a good game to do sober.

Main gripe for me is we spent the end of last season trying to pass the ball out from the back and I understand that was tried a bit in pre season, yet we stick one up front against their three centre halves and lump it. Very poor.

I was in the boozer talking to Garrp when the team came through and post the initial shock we immediately feared that type of play

 

We certainly didn't play that way in the friendly I saw at Tranmere so why at Watford??

Right im finally back after stopping over last night. Fuck me that was absolutely shocking and the first half was possibly the worst ive ever seen from a wanderers team.

 

Im one who likes to give managers a chance and let them try and build their team but Dougie Freedman for me just doesnt have a fucking clue. Ive backed him for a good while and called for him to be given a chance but i dont think he is capable of turning this around.

 

The same mistakes keep being made and not learning from them is fucking ludicrous. I dont mind teams playing 1 up front when you have the players to suit the system but we dont have the right fucking players. To play one up front you need a good striker to play the lone role and we dont have any. You need a mobile midfield who can get up and support the striker and we dont fucking have that either so where does Dougie come up with this conclusion that 1 up front is best for us??

 

Our defence is shocking and has been for some time but i think a lot of this is down to what is in front of them. The ball is on the edge of our box so often that even the best defenders in the world will fucking cave in eventually. We have 5 in midfield but have no presence in there and the ball is like a hot potato. We have a massive gap between midfield and the striker so when the midfield get the ball theres nowhere to go except long to one man against 3 or sideways or backwards. This usually results in the ball being back with the opposition in an advanced position with the defence facing yet more pressure.

 

Yesterday

 

Lonergan - Fucking woeful goalkeeper and if he is a better keeper than Bogdan i will sell my cock to a cannibal for a £1. First and third goal he was so fucking slow off his line my grandad could have got to the ball and put it away.

 

Mcnaughton - Did ok, no major mistakes.

Mills - Needs to be more aggresive, Deeney beat him in the air way too much. Did ok with everything else.

Ream - Shit. What kind of defender shows the attacker inside when he is in the box? Showed Vydra into a one on one the usless fuckwit.

Moxey - Absolute nightmare and Looked very nervous. He cant be that bad so hoping it was a one off.

Dervite - Had a shocker for the 3rd goal but i liked the look of him. Showed a glimmer of promise imo so will see on that one. Missed a sitter off a late corner.

 

Danns - Worst player for me. Lost the ball every single time he had it. First touch was a shot. Not a left winger though and usually much better so will let him off.

Lee - As usual some nice touches but cant beat a man and cant cross. Has to turn back everytime he gets the ball.

Spearing - Our best player easily. Battled well in the middle and made some good challenges.

Medo - Fucking usless. Makes no impact on the game at all. Plenty of clapping trying to gee people up but maybe he should gee himself up the useless fucking ballbag.

Pratley - Put himself about but everything he did just turned to shit. Getting taken off at half time saved him from being the worst player.

Feeney - Direct and at least had a go when he came on. Got into some good crossing positions but really needs to provide a better ball, crosses were utter wank.

 

Davies - Worked his nuts off and won plenty of headers and flick ons but whats the point when the nearest player is 30 yards away? Doesnt look very comfortable on the ball and quite clumsy with it. Deffo not a long term option.

Beckford - Still dont rate him. Doesnt hit the target enough with his shots at all. Did well to turn the defender at one point then missed the target. Also missed the ball completley when he had a half chance from a cross.

 

The support was absolutely fantastic and them cunts dont deserve it. Was impressed with the turnout and the backing of the players despite their utter shitness. Took my old man and he said the fans were brilliant and it just about made it worthwhile going for him. Shame yet again the players gave nothing for the supporters to back/get behind.

 

Im not sure if its worth giving Dougie 10 games if it carries on like that. We aint going nowhere with one up front even it was fucking Suarez nevermind what we have got. Im not expecting miracles but constantly making the same fuck ups is boring and pointless.

Agree with all that, Tylswhite. And yes, the following was great. To take 1400, with travel problems on the trains etc, all spending upwards of a minimum of 50 quid to watch that shower of shite...well it's just not on. I can take losing, Christ I'm a Wanderers fan, but setting yourself up to lose, picking players you haven't played most of pre-season and dropping others (where was Hall, Threlkeld - why not swap him for Moxey instead of changing two positions?) is getting seriously irritating. And before people start with the 'its the first game of the season, get behind the lads' stuff, this has been happening for 2 years under this guy and he keeps on doing it. That's groundhog day, not those fans spending hundreds of pounds a year and days of their lives feeling they have the right to express that view.

 

I said give him til end of Oct during the summer...more of this over the next three or four games tho and my feeling will be why wait that long and waste another season?

 

I really hope I'm wrong and it's just a blip which we'll learn from, but nothing he's done so far suggests that's likely.

Had a great day out yesterday and glad the season has started.

 

If Moxey, Ream, Lonergan, Medo, Chungy, Beckford, Craig Davies, Pratley and Danns ALL left the club tomorrow and replaced by randomly selected replacements we would be much better off - they were all dire

 

Its a good job going to the game is much more than the football itself.

 

Lets just look forward to a season full of good away days and fuck the football until Freedman and his cronies finally gets binned. How people can say that they will give him more time is unbelievable; its not going to change with him so wake up.
