Had a go second half but looked short of ideas and always likely to concede. Singing Gartside out 20 minutes into a new season is ridiculous and pointless but not entirely surprising unfortunately

August 9, 201412 yr Playing 1 up top with players not suited to the role is bad management, with the players at our disposal he has to go 2 up top so until we see new strikers he has to play either 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 or 4-1-3-2 anything else to me does not make sense. My team with all fit playing in a 4-4-2. Bogdan Mcnaughton Wheater Mills Moxey ( not sure about him) Spearing Davies Feeney Danns Beckford Wilkinson I'd play a Flat back 4 as our fullbacks bombing forward are enabling teams to get in behind us and our fullbacks not suited to wing backs. Even a tactical mastermind could not whip up a plan with this lot. This is no Phil Neal potentially good group that can be resurrected by a Rioch. We fans should harden ourselves for a relegation battle, each home point should be seen as one won. It ain't pretty but its real.

We have decent players but when it all goes wrong everyone just stands around hoping someone else will shout instructions. I haven't lost hope yet and believe that we are capable but Super Dougie needs to demand his best players stand up and be counted or at least give them the right to make decisions during the game. Craig Davies is not the answer up front and we are a million miles from the team I saw 2 years ago lose to Burnley.

August 9, 201412 yr He should play the same team against Bury on Tuesday but let them all decide what way they want to play, Super Dougie isn't capable of instilling any confidence in them which is a worry, but as Sam always did he has to let them play their way into some form and soon.

If he had played three new attackers today, we would still have got spanked. New attacking options won't stop our defenders from fucking up with alarming regularity.

August 9, 201412 yr In his match interview he said our defending was "uncharacteristic". We defended like that for most of last season. He needs to sort it out. What do we work on in training all week? If he was planning on playing Craig Davies today, why not start Craig Davies last week instead of Beckford? Fryatt and Assombalonga will have a field day if we defend like that against forest. Strong line up needed against Bury. 2 up top, give them a good hammering and get some confidence back.
