June 28, 201412 yr Metallica didnt do it for me Im afraid..but hey ho. Have the Manics found Nicky Wire yet? You mean Richie Edwards. No. Nicky Wire is the bass player who wears makeup.
June 29, 201412 yr What I don't get it's people taking such a dislike to Metallica. I like the Manics as well (as Spider say they are not a million miles apart) if fact one of their biggest supporters used to be Motley Crüe and they were always covered in Kerrang! It's not the slagging off, it's just the obviousness of it that's boring. Anyway, thought they did a really good gig last night and hopefully won over those who we're open to it, rather than those who would rather make easy gags and misinformed snide comments.
June 29, 201412 yr rather than those who would rather make easy gags and misinformed snide comments. Surely the very cornerstones of this website
June 29, 201412 yr Fell asleep and missed Metallica so going to get stuck in this morning. Also missed Pixies and Goldfrapp. Off to a bbq this afternoon but can't wait to get back for Dolly, last year Kenny Rogers was the highlight for me
June 29, 201412 yr I heard that Prince is going to be a surprise guest today at some point, that should be worth seeing if true
June 29, 201412 yr You mean Richie Edwards. No. Nicky Wire is the bass player who wears makeup. Yeah him. Have they found him yet?
June 29, 201412 yr This being the largest outdoor music event in the world you would have thought the BBC could have invested in a decent sound system, the stereo feed was appalling especially as we have had football in Dolby Digital for years. Oh and don't get me started on those talentless bunch of juvenile fuckers who present it all, do they think we all have a mental age of 5 Mungus Sunday rant over and not a single mention of Super Dougie, tablets must be working. June 29, 201412 yr You lot need a bit of banging trance in your lives. :-) Death to all but metal apparently. Here you go bud
June 29, 201412 yr Robert Plant, doesn't want to reform Zep but do his own thing, then goes out and plays Zeppelin songs. Fucking Robert Plantpot.
June 29, 201412 yr I like the Manics as well (as Spider say they are not a million miles apart) That sounds like a desperate attempt to give some credibility to Metallica.
June 29, 201412 yr Robert Plant, doesn't want to reform Zep but do his own thing, then goes out and plays Zeppelin songs. Fucking Robert Plantpot. Doesn't even perform them as they were written either. Reinterpreting them seems to be more for his amusement than the audience. Edited June 29, 201412 yr by COYW
June 29, 201412 yr Oh and don't get me started on those talentless bunch of juvenile fuckers who present it all, do they think we all have a mental age of 5 Totally agree with you. Apart from Wiley and Radcliffe, the rest of them are of the " TOTES RANDOM" generation.
June 29, 201412 yr That sounds like a desperate attempt to give some credibility to Metallica. Seems a large proportion of the Glastonbury audience think you're talking out of your bitter arse. There a lot of music I don't like, but I wouldn't waste the amount of energy you do on telling a world that couldn't care less.
June 29, 201412 yr There a lot of music I don't like, but I wouldn't waste the amount of energy you do on telling a world that couldn't care less. No, you just spend all your energy responding to it.
June 29, 201412 yr People are so bloody blinkered when it comes to music. How can you label something as shite just because it doesn't suit your musical taste?? I'd never buy a Metallica album but I'd go and see em and I thoroughly enjoyed watching that last night. They are obviously shit hot at what they do and folk love em. A show is a show. If folk like it what's the problem?? I went to see the offspring and eagle eye cherry in the same week once. Love watching folk that are good at what they do.
June 29, 201412 yr Some bands and/or acts you love can be shite too, I'm thinking specifically of The Happy Mondays - whom I've witnessed play one of the best gigs I've attended and one of the worst... Other 'brilliant one time, biz the next' turns include Dave Clarke (the DJ not the drummer/bandleader), Ritchie Hawtin, Tricky and Sepultura... Edited June 29, 201412 yr by Youri McAnespie

June 29, 201412 yr One Direction are good at what they do too. Fuckin right they are. They sell millions of albums across the world and sell out stadium tours in seconds. Obviously doing something right. But no because they don't wear scruffy clothes and play in front of more than 50 people they are shite.

June 29, 201412 yr Not really paid much attention to this event in years, once they started pitching luxury mobile homes and families started going with grandma and baby in tow it sort of lost its soul for me. However, having just taken notice of whose been on I reckon I would have buried my disdain just to see the Pixies alone never mind the added bonus of Metallica.
June 29, 201412 yr So you'd go and watch them then? If my lad or my mrs wanted to go then damn right I would. They sell beer and there's people singing on stage. Don't get the issue. I've seen loads of stuff I'm not into but had a cracking time doing so. Il divo, take that, the script,Eminem, beautiful south, stereophonics, david gray, machine head to name but a few. A show is a show.
June 29, 201412 yr No, you just spend all your energy responding to it. Tell you what Jump on here when an act worthy of your praise is on and I'll offer an opinion.
