I like Arcade Fire, but I didn't think that much of that set.

 

I really, really want to like Elbow, but I can't. Utterly boring, dreary songs without a tune but sung with a good voice. How are they massive and I Am Kloot still can't get a break?

They're actually just doing a 2 hour long version of Master of Puppets with the big screens showing a constant rotation of a harrowing, super slo-mo film of a bullet smashing through a bear's skull.

Then Paddington Bear comes onstage right at the end and Lars Ulrich trips two 'Bouncing Betty' landmines with his kickdrums - blowing him to pieces just as he's pulling a marmalade sandwich from his briefcase.

I've heard they're going to play '...And Justice For All' in album order and in it's entirety, and that's it.

I would love them to open with whiplash or battery

 

Not even thinly veiled, but I'm nearly looking forward to seeing them as much as next Sunday when I'm watching them at knebworth.

I fear the reality will be a weak as piss set of their most 'accessible' songs, I wouldn't be surprised if they threw in a cover or two (at Glastonbury) - they won't win over the naysayers though so might as well be themselves (their onstage selves)...

When they brought out what's become known as 'Metallica' I thought they had become one step away from Poison or Motley Crue...Anyhow, music is subjective, their most 'accessible' would include those you (and Matt) mention, some of the stuff off St. Anger, and some off Kill 'em All too.

 

Anyhow, when everyone was wanking over The Arcade Fire (I did give them a go, they're Ok) I was listening to Brutal Truth and Carcass last night (and Virgo Four and Jungle Wonz too - and I wasn't just being deliberately and poseurly 'eclectic' either ) so we probably have different definitions of 'accessible'.
