I can't agree with this post at all...no surprise as I am clearly in the "sack the manager crowd"   And that's not down to thinking that we have a god given right to be in the Premier either   Fir

danns got a one year deal

thats either cos he's on relatively good money or he's getting on a bit

He's 31 or 32, I think.

We have been dominated every game we have played this season. The other team has had more possession, chances, shots in every game.

ive left the bit i agree with

that wasn't what i asked

why do you think our players should be good enough for that to be different?

we saw when dawson arrived things turned overnight

similarly when juke arrived

maybe its about journeymen trundlers and then adding a bit of class from the loan market

we haven't added the class yet, obviously :)

maybe

perhaps

possibly

We should be comfortable middle of the pack in this league at least but we have been arse raped by every team we have played so far.

See I think this is where we differ. Two years ago we should have been middle - top of the Championship. Now we've had to remove our "better" players and replace them with cheaper options, I honestly think our place is around the middle, maybe a little lower.

We're not as good as people think we are, regardless of the past decade or so.

Oldham, Barnsley, MK Dons, and Bradford were in the Premier League and are now languishing in League 1. Times change, unfortunately, and unless you're one of the big boys with the turnover and the huge gates then you're going to have these ebbs and flows between divisions.

Of course your going to have "ebbs and flows"

It's usually down to personnel - manager and players if you have either an ebb or a flow

That would suggest we have the wrong personnel

We're 3rd bottom though, not middle of the table

Who says the players we've removed were better anyway?

After a handful of games... Christ on a bike. For what it's worth, the old adage of "the table doesn't lie" works out 9 times out of 10. Where did we finish last season, and this season we have a weaker team due to missing out on our main target and losing a couple of experienced heads in the squad.

The players we removed have spent most of their careers playing week in and week out in the Premier League. The newer players haven't. And in case you hadn't noticed, I put better in air quotes, suggesting I'm not sure better was the exact word. Probably "more decorated" might be more appropriate.

how good are these players

like i posted, eagles is rated by some as one of our better players

it looks like hes going to end up a division below - i actually think hes better than that

Clearly, Dougie didn't get the best out of him

I'd like to decorate them

With excrement

OK, so I'll ask you, when is it that we can look at the table?

The day after Boxing Day.

Every team will have played every other team once (apart from any postponements), so the only anomalies will be which teams have been played at home and which away.

Why does every team have to have played each other before the table tells a story?

That's absolute nonsense

It's somewhere in the middle. There is not exact number, it depends how the season is going.

Man U are currently 13th in the Premier League, you think they're going to finish there? If they're still there after 10 games then alarm bells will start ringing. I don't think it's any coincidence that most people on here want to see how DF handles the first 10 games or so. I would personally give him more time that that in the Championship (due to playing 46 instead of 38).

I would say after 15 games the table is starting to take shape, obviously with potential anomalies occurring in the remaining season.

It's not just a handful of games though is it.

We've just had a full seasons worth of shambolic tactics and team selections.

That's the issue. These past 4 games aren't a blip, they are a continuation of last season.

Teams coming to Our ground and having 70+% possession, having 8 shots on target in as many games, getting over run in midfield by every team we play against. They are all indisputable facts.

If you are happy with it because you casino think its "just where we are at" then crack on. You will be very happy together.

The rest of us can see a man that's completely out of his depth without a clue how to rectify the problem.

It's not off the pitch where the problem is. It's on it.

You say our players aren't as good as we think they are. I say bollocks. They are being made to look like rabbits caught in the head lights because of crackpot systems and style of play deployed by the manager.

Fuckin hell gonch, that's the longest post you've ever made without any obscure sexual reference. Cap doffed from a random pub in Crewe.

Haha my apologies....

Think our Douglas needs to try out the dusty armadillo on his mrs. It will liberate him and sort out his team selections. :-)

Thanks, Gonzo. Saved me replying, and probably not as well as this.

Thats the best bit of summing up I have read on here for a long time.

Taking the stats from the BBC website:

If you include just the last 8 leagues games at home:

    120 shots, 33 on target.

Not once has a team had 70%+ possession.

If you include the last 8 league games home and away:

    98 shots, 26 on target.

Not once has a team had 70%+ possession.

If you include the last 8 league and cup games at home:

    112 shots, 37 on target.

Not once has a team had 70%+ possession.

If you include the last 8 league and cup games home and away (not including Crewe):

    99 shots, 29 on target.

Not once has a team had 70%+ possession.

I am disputing your indisputable facts. No, actually. I'm calling those facts bullshit.

How many times have we bossed possession and had more shots etc than our opponents?

Its no good just showing our statistics is it? They mean fuck all in isolation.

That's nothing to do with what I'm saying.

Yes, we're not playing as well as we can - it's not as bad as everyone is led to believe by bullshit sensationalist stats though.

In all but 2 of the games (if memory serves) we have had less possession and shots. But that's the way DF likes to play the game. If we were playing well and winning, the stats would STILL look like that.

Its not as bad as everyone is led to believe? How many games have you actually been and watched? Its been fucking dreadful.

We have been nailed every league game and the statistics back that up. We have matched the 2 lower league teams we have played on the stats which suprises me as we were fucking shit both matches. We did manage to scrape past them in extra time so the results of them matches the only positives.

Performances, stats, results whichever way you look at it we have been utter fucking shit. If thats the way Dougie likes to play then he is off his fucking face on something illegal.

Edited by tylswhite

Snoop when even those who are usually positive in their outlook on the club are saying it's shit and needs to change sharpish.

There's no hiding from it, things need to buck up or Dougie has to go.

Those of you who have spent your hard earned witnessing this absolute shite are all wrong.

Obviously.
