Df - Nearly 2 Years On......................

To the surprise of many he was appointed late Oct 2012 - nearly two years ago to a team which consisted of a Premier League squad. We were favourites for promotion at the beginning of the season, yet the start had been disappointing under Coyle. The brief though was simple as per his GMR interview shortly after his appointment - promotion. The start was disappointing and although we went on a strong run in the early part of 2013, even the play-offs were found to be beyond our grasp, such had been the poor start in his first 2/3 months.

We started the following season second favourites for promotion. What followed was the clubs worse start in over 100 years and people fearing the unthinkable - relegation. Although things picked up slightly in the New Year, when the season had effectively ended, the play-offs were never in sight and another disappointing season came to a close.

This current season has once again started in a disappointing manner and worse then last years at the current time - 1 point from 3 games. DF tried to hoodwink everyone at the start of the season by stating that the fans and the clubs expectations are aligned - no they are not.

Common themes throughout his tenure are inconsistent/negative team formations, players playing out of position and a general lack of entertainment.  He has also proved himself on numerous occasions to be tactically inept and I can barely remember him making a positive impact with a sub.

He now claims that he now has a fantastic honest bunch of players. Unfortunately they are not very good at doing what they are paid to do - play football and they are yours.

We are fast approaching D-day, and the indications are clearly there for all to see. DF is not the man for this club and is clearly out of his depth. Indeed in this day and age he has been very lucky to last this long.

A decision needs making quick and there are far more experienced Managers with better CV's currently out of work. Billie Davies springs to mind.

Come on Eddie get your finger out and put DF and the fans out of our misery.

  • What baffles me completely is Dfs priorities in terms of attitude and desire. It's something the fans like to hear yet we have the resilience and heart of a frozen pea. We NEVER look comfortable wit

Lets have some realistic replacements...

Eddie Howe? Would he come ere?

Phil Brown?

Dave Flitcroft?

Steve Clark?

Chris Houghton?

Gary Neville?

Put Jimmy and t'other fella in charge

Truth is; they couldn't do any worse. This fella has nothing going for him.

Haha I was waiting for bowton baked! :-)

I don't want him sacked but if he is then Keith Hill.

I thought I would never say this but even Megson set up the side better than Freedman, and played better football.

But the fans didnt like Megson and wanted him gone even before he got here

Serious question - and this absolutely isn't aftertiming - but is ANYONE genuinely surprised that this hasn't worked?  Was it not blindingly obvious that this was a big punt on behalf of the club, an 'anyone must be better than Coyle' naive option?  Freedman's stock was at its optimum at the time due to Palace flying high (with some good players, but as palace fans will tell you after some time under Freedman not playing well) - some might say Coyle himself had similar stock in the recent past, and at a national level - but with very little genuine managerial pedigree to back this up.

thing is, that's where we're at again

we ain't going to attract anyone proven and in a job

so we either go for someone out of work, someone like Chris Hughton, or someone promising, like Flitcroft

either way, it's a punt, but "anyone must be better than DF"

I don't care who it would be, but it's got to be worth a punt because we're going nowhere fast at the minute and a change in direction would just be nice, but still, it's a punt

but

I don't think he's going anywhere

so it's all just a bit shit

Argh why am I getting into a debate with people on official facebook page when they want an Arab owner to come in, throw 200m at the club, get Allardyce back in and sign Paddy Kenny.

Should just leave well alone!

Signing Paddy Kenny is the most likely of those things to happen, but we've already got one fat keeper who isn't good enough.

I've got a tank full of diesel, start the fucking car...

fuck that, if he's going he can make his own way there

Do you trust him to find his own way?

True, so Megson (like some big kid) didn't like the fans right back. And that was that..

If Carlsberg did gossip.............

................. it would be 1/14 on.

dunno but I imagine he has a plan, as he got half way there once before

Maybe Lenny could guide him.

We thought nobody could do worse than Megson......and then Coyle......and now Freedman. Hopefully the downward spiral will stop, as each manager seems to be worse than the one before

And each one as had less money to spend then the one before (except Megson), and I cant see that changing any time soon

7/1 now on paddy power

Eddie Howe loves it Down south

Hughton also very cautious and defensive.

Clark also played a counterattacking game at west Brom and learned his trade under Mourinho who's not exactly gung Ho.

Phil Brown same philosophy as big Sam.

Dave Flitcroft wouldn't be a bad shout.

Thing is I don't mind a defensive system if it actually works.

We are about as solid as Garrps guts after a four day bender.

Billy Davies? Knows the division, did well in his first stint at Forest. Not as well in his second of course.

Some clown at work mentioned Di Canio the other day!

Ian Holloway will be our next manager when Dougie leaves for palace on Tuesday
