Everyone expected a loss. The fact that we almost sneaked a draw and extra time is why people are giving credit. You can only play the team that's in front of you and if Chelsea had their scoring boots on then the result would have been very different.

He's hardly going to get sacked for losing against Chelsea whatever the score was.

Is it just me or do we always look better in the last few minutes once we've made our subs and ended up with the team we should have started with. If we contjnue to bring all 10 men back for every free kick and corner I will go mad. Every time we cleared the ball chelsea players were under no pressure at all when they got the ball and could pick their passes at leisure. I'd happily take one of the coaches' salaries and do a far better job than they are at the moment. It's not rocket science.

But that's just the thing.

 

EVERYONE on here knows Chelsea deserved to win today.

EVERYONE bar you and a couple others can appreciate that we ALMOST caused a bit of an upset, and regardless of how against the run of the game it would have been, of course people would have been happy and forgotten what happened beforehand. The game would have been back on level terms and the stats from the previous 90 minutes would mean nothing.

 

We actually had 3 shots on goal, or did you completely disregard the final 10 minutes of the game?

 

I very much doubt that Derby will have seen that today and will be "licking their lips". Chelsea's forward play was terrible today, and that did alter the perception of the match slightly. However, as I said earlier, I feel our defence did well to shut them out as much as we did and I don't think Derby will relish looking to break that down. Our big failure today was in midfield and attack, as has been the case much of the season. It was just highlighted more today because we were playing the current best team in the country.

 

The reason we go so much play in the final 10 minutes is because Chelsea considered the game won and prepared to settle for what they had, as is the Mourinho way.

Have you ever played football Dids, just out of interest?

 

In practice, a striker will hit the target nearly 100% of the time. In games, pressure from the defence causes them to snatch their shots and miss. I'm not saying this was the case for all of the shots today but to say the defence had no effect on the Chelsea strikers mis-firing today is VERY naive.

Happy with that it's a match we didnt need and we didn't get ripped like Manchester United did.
