So there's no money now. There'll be even less than none when we've paid off Freedman (and Flemming and Lawrence? Presumably...)

Ā

So no new signings. Not even small children from West Ham.

Ā

Then when we win under the new manager, it can be immediately traced to him, rather than to reversion to the mean (which is what it really is).

Ā

Then, when things go badly, the new man can say it's all Freedman's fault, and he needs time to build his own team. But there's no money, so he'll have to make do with second-best, loans and the like.

Ā

Then things start to go badly and people start grumbling. And in 2-3 years time we're back here all over again. New man sacked, even newer man in place.

Ā

Does anyone ever get bored of this?

Until you find the right man? If it was that predictable it's not sport is it and BWFC would never have been in Europe for example maybe? Sean Dyche Sam Allardyce Tony Pulis to name but a few managers who've got teams up on a shoestring

Ā

jay lynch who plays for salford?

Ā

that jay lynch?

Ā

no, the one who plays for Accrington

Ā

Who is Jay Lynch apart from some bitter kid who never made it?

Ā

well he has first hand experience of his management which is better than hearing the usual "no one really knows whats going on" lines, it backs up what's been heard elsewhere and I doubt there'll be many tweets of condolences

Posted

He's at Salford City - didnt work out at Accy

Ā

so he does

Ā

let down by the internet there

Ā

it's still the same one, playing for a shit team doesn't make his opinion any less valid

When the main point of appreciation is for his work off the pitch rather than his work as a football team manager, it says it all

Ā

Whether the job was mis-sold to him or it unravelled whilst he was here is irrelevant. His primary job was getting results on the green stuff 34w 33d 34l isn't what he was brought in to provide.

Ā

No doubt you worked hard Dougie, appreciate your efforts, you'll probably make a great accountant but for the benefit of the club football wise and the fans sanity goodbye and thank fook!

Ā

Onwards & upwards

Agreed, he has seen it first hand and wouldn't say it if it wasn't true!!

Ā

Hopefully Clayton, Vela, Hall, et al all get some game time tomorrow... Hall & Vela must be skipping at the news!

Just spent all morning ripping up one of the wifes best bed sheet :blush:Ā  and painted FREEDMAN OUT on it !! Ā Fucked now !!

Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Grandad (Rochdale Whites)

Anyone got any Turps?Ā

Lee & Phillips in temporary charge tomorrow... works for me. Give them 5 games (all of October) and see how they do!

Ā

Ā

Been told Jamie Fullerton is in charge tomorrow.

Thank goodness for that.

Freedman gone.

I wish the bloke the best and all that, but id be astounded if he made a half decent manager. Having said that he has had zero money to spend, but the performances and team selection and negative tactics have been horrendous.

Hopefully we can get somebody with experience in this time around, going for the young up and coming managers haven't worked the last two times with Coyle and Freedman.

Billy Davies would be high on my shortlist.

Ā

it says that he's not good enough

Ā

his opinion of freedman is no doubt coloured by the fact he didnt make it

Ā

who next, hydes adam blakeman?

Bored of posts like this? Aye!

Ā

Folk used this logic to say DF was the man to stick with; but had he gone a few months ago, the new Manager could arguably have had a better set of cards to play with

Ā

When they are not the right man for the job, they are the wrong man for the job.

Ā

it "might get worse".....yep, but if we don;t make a change it will certainly not get better

Ā

And it's done now...get behind 'em all

I suppose the point is perhaps we need to adjust expectations as fans going forward. Staying in this division over the next few seasons probably would be a decent achievement.

And this is what I mean about naivete.

Ā

It has to be the right man, yes. But they need to have a vision for how to proceed, the players and staff need to buy into it, and, above all, they need to be backed.

Ā

Simply thinking that because Freedman's gone everything is fine is silly. And simply thinking we can put in "the right man" and carry on as before is staggeringly naive.

Ā

But hey - the bad guy's gone, the good guys have won and the next messiah is riding over the horizon on a horse. Is than John Beck, I see...? He'd be cheaper than Mixu Paatelainen anyway.
