How I would love a player like him in our team now.

Strong as an Ox,like shit off a shovel and could strike a ball. Always a gamble where it was going to end up mind haha

What a player he was. Vastly underrated.

think we,d be happy with the atmosphere round the club from that era. for mcginlay and blake see mason and clayton , we can but hope .

Loved Blake despite his 1 in 50 conversion rate!

Wonderful goal at Grimsby that day

  • Author

ah,the grimsby game when he ran from the halfway line. always remember turning up before the game with no ticket as the ben had printed payon the door. the grimsby officials then told us they only had 100 extra tickets, got one and will never forget the seat number - bench at back of stand - quality.

A Welshman, strong as fuck, with about tendency to shoot on sight... where would we find such an unique individual?

Can't believe no one has mentioned him cracking Gary Pallister....

I remember most the goal vs West Brom at home. He hit that from what felt like 90 yards and it flew into the top corner.

Loved it.

them goals mentioned Grimsby and west brom were quality no probs with Blake good player

Fuck, thought it was Lennons first signing

Seem to remember some of our lot trying to break into our end because it had sold out. Rember the corrugated iron rocking back and forth. That and it was fucking bleak and freezing in Grimsby. Could not find a pub that would serve us.

First win in 9 games and took us back to the top, amazing top of league and 1 win in 9.

Is it on a video link somewhere?

Wasn't there one at Pompey in the fog where he ran about 60 yards with it?

yeah, wasn't sure bout that at first so had to check

we hadn't won since start of November - but had only lost 2, with 7 draws

the Grimsby game was the first of 7 wins in a row, and we only lost once more that season

I think he would still get in your team.

A Nathan Blake type would be worth his weight in gold in this league.

18 stone of gold won't be cheap.

Dearer than the same weight of working muscle, granted.
