I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

The "fixture congestion" angle is utter bollocks. As is usual in today's world, it's all about making life as easy as possible for the people with all the money.

Exactly.  The likes of Spurs and Chelsea can play about 15 pointless Europa Thurday League games but they can't play an FA Cup replay.

Nah, they’re as bipolar as we are. They’ll get stuffed again next week.

Upto a couple of months ago I compared us to United - when they won under Ten Haag, it meant nothing, the Ten Haag believers - like the Evatt believers - could take it as signs of an upturn and reason to give him another chance.  Those watching from afar new it was always good news if they won, it prolonged their mediocrity by keeping a bad manager in post, wasting more money in each transfer window.

But now, as bad as they are, they've gone to City, Liverpool and Arsenal, gone toe to toe and arguably been the better team in all 3.  We can no longer be compared to them - we don't have any champagne moments in us, we'd kill for just one of those moments in a whole year, and I'm only talking at winning at Huddersfield or Wigan.  Those days feel like they are from a completely different era, I haven't felt such a lack of hope of a genuine "limbs" moment since the early 80s.

Spurs went on a pre season tour to Australia before the Euros last summer.

Then bowled straight in to another season.

Wankers.

Aye

Them and Newcastle put out full strength in a friendly against each other in Melbourne just a few days after the season ended

And they all just signed up to a European format that adds another two group games into the schedule

Don’t forget they lost all three league matches between the City and Liverpool games, with an aggregate of 0-7 to boot!

Absolutely, they are a bit crap, they'll finish half way like us, but they can rise to the occasion and give their fans some great memories, looking like top 4 material one week and bottom 6 the next.

If we could look like beating top 4 teams twice a year, I'd take that to be going on with, just to go to Huddersfield thinking that might be one of those good days would do.

New manager bounce?

I'd have agreed if these results had been in his first few weeks there, but unfortunately the signs are that he's improved them 😒 But that was always going to happen, he's replaced a poor manager (for that level).

Van Nistelrooy got new manager bounce both at Utd and Leicester, he's a good example of one that can't sustain it, I suspect Amorim will prove to be half decent.

Wow, some serious thundertwats in there.

Just almost slightly before my time, certainly in terms of European football, but remember him, but not for being that good, but for his celebration

Had never heard of him before I watched a documentary about him on YouTube. Some finisher💀

hero of Eurogoals every Monday night

Turn it in Sol :D

Nottingham Forest are ace.

Such a badly needed breath of fresh air to the PL.

Hopefully more managers will now start to see that there's another way to play football.

That goal Fulham conceeded last night sums the whole shitshow up.

They played an intricate passing combo in their own box to set up a one touch finish and goal. Pep would have been proud.

Trouble is West Ham scored it.

Yeah but imagine scoring more goals but not winning possession be so shit

Yeah, a victory without more possession is a hollow victory, indeed.

DMB struggling with our formation here.

Mad ain't it. Identical. Spare defender and attacking midfielder playing as a 3rd striker while getting overrun in midfield :D

DMB

getting Twatted and now

loseing

Good to see a Southampton player getting booked for demanding a Utd player gets booked for going down in the box

Didn't know that was a thing you got booked for these days but I approve

And wing backs absolutely nowhere to be seen :D

Ange went all Evatt like last night, ending up with 4 strikers and one in midfield and he's another one who can't let go of a flawed playing system.
