I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

Brother in law and his family are visiting for Christmas/New Year and he's a Blackburn fan so we're having a few drinks and settling down to watch the 6 finger derby. Haven't watched a Championship game in ages so I'm looking forward to seeing the standard, I'm suspecting it's going to be a different game to L1 let alone a different level.

Is it just me or is Newcastle's assistant manager really irritating?

In conclusion Blackburn are a better version of us, Burnley are a better version of the sides that routinely beat us.

Didn’t watch but supposedly Modric turned the game on it’s head. Also says he’s made 561 appearances for them that seems some going as I thought he’d racked up a few hundred for spurs too

Changed the game the instant he came on. Been some player over his career that lad.

Vini Jr. hotheadedness on display again.

Both rivals but always good to see Bastard Rovers beaten.

Never had an issue with Burnley probably helps I grew up friends with Burnley fans. Can't stand Blackburn though.

When I was growing up, Burnley had a string of good players ("internationals" was the term used then) like Alex Elder, Ralph Coates etc. plus a reputation for having a magnificent youth development system and one of the best playing surfaces around (along with those bucket shaking bastards). A club that wasn't hard to admire except for the occasions when we played each other.

Polar opposites at Ewood Park. Absolute shithouses - always have been, always will be.

Always.

Similar but the other way round. Knew plenty of Blackburn and they’re all nut sacks😂. Can’t stand Blackburn.

Over time I’ve grown to dislike Burnley though. Think it’s just driven from being above us. Also the myth that the whole town supports them.

Likewise got cousins who are Blackburn so it's never been more than banter with them for me

Burnley join all the other lancs clubs in that its nothing more than an easy to get to away game

It's both of you

Are liverpool going to ask for a medal for VAR

Entertaining second half

Great game that!

Not a great pass for Maguire with it bouncing on floor but a big miss that.

He's a big lump of a centre-half who found himself in and area of the pitch he shouldn't really be

I'd be far more critical of the pass to him

But it looked offside to me anyway

Prem at it's finest.

Great game.  TAA isn’t a great defender.

Enjoyed the Liv-Man U game far more than I expected to, thought it would either be a 0-0 backs to the wall like last season or an easy, boring home win.  There were more chances and saves/clearances in injury time than our entire 2nd half yesterday.  Bruno Fernandez a rolls royce of a player.

TAA very poor, one of the most overrated players I've come across.  I'd have Bradley all day long.

BF is a top player when he can be arsed.

Seen plenty of examples of him spitting out his dummy and waving his arms about like a kid who's been told he can't have another sweet.

Cut from the same cloth as Ronaldo in that respect.  As a neutral, if BF is playing in a televised game I know it will improve the spectacle, he plays as an individual and not like the usual Pep disciples with their 10 yards sideways passes.  Great passion and will to win, and doesn't follow the modern day rule book of how to play football, one of the best players to watch in the Prem for me.

As you say, cut from similar cloth as Ronaldo. He can properly get under my skin on the field but, to be fair, he comes across in interviews very honestly and frankly, and in other TV bits I've seen, as a decent bloke
