December 19, 2025Dec 19 Yes, Nolan is doing a great job at Northampton. Rochdale won at Altrincham and have got 49 points from 20 games, by some distance the best points per game ratio in the English professional leagues. Hope they maintain it and get back in the EFL.

December 20, 2025Dec 20 I noticed the Provo wave a trailing foot into the head of a Swansea player last night. Not a word said?
December 20, 2025Dec 20 Normal service resumed at Stevenage ably assisted by some comical Burton defending.
December 20, 2025Dec 20 Palace away at Leeds tonight, despite playing Thursday, because they play Arsenal in the cup Tuesday Definitely sticking a few quid on Leeds at 2.63

Agree it’s a good result and nice to see that they didn’t pick up and expected 3 points. They’re falling though and won’t be near us by the end of the season. 13 points in the last 10 games. They started like a train but I’ll put it out there that they won’t be in the play offs come the end of the season.

December 21, 2025Dec 21 Just watched Hearts put Rangers away to go 9 points clear of Celtic at the top. Of course everyone interested in SPL has been saying they’re going to slip up, but they don’t look like they will ATM Hearts are a proper old school team - big strong back four with fullbacks that don’t pile forward, super athletic and physical midfield, 3 good strikers including Shankland. No frills, no fantasy football, they know what they are and play to their strengths. Rangers, like a lot of teams try to play intricate and it times over elaborate football and it was refreshing to see Hearts crushing them with the basics. A lesson for us perhaps?

I'm pretty sure every time you watch a football match you jump straight on here to point out how the winning team won, and how we should just copy them. Edited December 21, 2025Dec 21 by Cheese
December 21, 2025Dec 21 Unbelievable second half in the Celtic game - they’re a goal ahead of 10 man Aberdeen and have been camped around the Aberdeen area for 20 minutes but god only knows how they haven’t scored at least another five at least - it remains in the balance. Aberdeen goalie having the game of his life, ably supported by the woodwork.

Celtic looked like they were getting back into their stride under ONeill but gone to shit since the new bloke came in and they lost his first game, to Hearts theirs to lose now

MOs record was brilliant - won every game apart from the slip up v Midtjylland, team was playing well, everyone was happy. O’Neill said he’d have continued if he’d been asked. He wasn’t.
December 22, 2025Dec 22 that SPL is probably league 1 level rangers and celtic at a push bottom half of the championship meaningless league

Until the 06/07 season when Celtic - the first British European champions - last beat Man U in Europe and at that time the Scots had the better head to head record against English clubs in Europe. The number of foreign players in the Prem is >60% and the massive spending spree finally allowed English clubs to overtake Scotland. Total player “value” of the two leagues tells the story - 12.5 billion v 375 million - and I still reckon Celtic would be comfortably mid table Prem.

The German and French leagues are meaningless to me, to name two, but I'm sure those that are involved in them enjoy them. L1 is meaningless to the vast majority of people in the UK, but it doesn't stop us being invested in it. Hearts fans were absolutely loving it yesterday and created a great atmosphere, FWIW the football can be better to watch than the pedestrian stuff we see down here, its like a throw back without the Pep ball we are subjected to.
