They do well Southampton on receiving incoming transfer fees, I don't know how much it is over the years but it's a shit load of money. They might suffer this time though, as they've sold half the team.

I agree that usually these kind of moves are bad for a player so early in their career gonzo, but in this case with Sagna having left will he not be considered their 1st choice right back this season? I might have missed them bringing in someone else but I don't think they have as far as I'm aware.

 

If they are moving to these clubs to play 1st team football like Shaw is then I see it as a good thing for England, if it's to be a squad player like anyone that goes to City seems to be then it's bad for both player and England.

Forgot about Debuchy. If it's right back which is his best position then I agree that it looks like a potentially poor move because he'll surely just play as back up to Debuchy

Every player has a value. The more I see of Southampton, the more impressed I am. If a player hits his value, sell and reinvest in the next cash cow.
