I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

What was the biggest European away following at the Reebok? Marseille perhaps? I remember Aris brought loads too, mainly nutcases.

Remember being quite disappointed with Marseille's following (and Athletico), only seemed about 400 apiece. Think Aris was the biggest by quite a stretch.

May have been a different story if it had been Bayern/Red Star at home rather than away. I don't think Sporting or Sevilla brought that many either.

How many are 100%ers including Pisa away??

Not me

Lisbon was more than 1500. Plenty good YouTube footage to back that up. Anyway, the point remains, we as fans did the club proud. Even when getting seven shades of shit kicked out of us, as some sadly did by the disgraceful Madrid police, we were very well behaved too, in the main. Especially given how much strong ale was collectively supped.

Be interested to see what leagues them other players were playing in at that age as well just to add some perspective.

Are we including Isle of Man too?

Some of those estimates are a bit exaggerated. Officially we took around 2,600 to Marseille plus a few more in the overspill area. I don't think we took anywhere near 4,500 to Guimaraes. If we had, we'd have filled that entire end, not just the upper tier. Madrid was just under 4,000 from memory.

From memory I'm sure we had a lot of fans in the bottom tier at Guimares.

The bottom tier is the away end, normally. Then the upper tier is on the day ticket sales unless they are playing the "big 3". The other 3 sides are members only.

BT Sport have Portuguese these year so folk will be able to watch them .

You're close.

It was Man U V. Real M after all. More of a showbiz event.

From memory I'm sure we had a lot of fans in the bottom tier at Guimares.

Plus a wheelchair or two at the back of the lower tier. I was pushing one of them.

At first, the stewards showed us into a stadium entrance where there were immediate flights of stairs up or down. Bit of a mistake there..

That's almost as many as we had on v Darlington.

Depends on the area, obviously the cities with a large Hispanic population will be into futbol. But Seattle get huge crowds week in week out. But they're short of sports teams to follow besides the Seahawks in the NFL.

On another note I sea blackpool had 8 trialists on the pitch at once yesterday.
