I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

First home game for West Ham tonight in their new ground......"under the lights".......the press will have a wank-a-thon over it no doubt

GMR not covering home games this season?

We will be behind Wigan for away match coverage too I reckon

Seen a couple of photos on twitter from in there, theres some huge, ugly, unfinished gaps between the tiers.

Think i heard my dentist say that once.

Is that not the dark claret bits? A friend of mine is there tonight ( eez an ammer), I hate to say it but it looks impressive from his photos.

Nah, well it is finished, its just there's big scaffolds with temporary retractable seating behind the goals a bit like that Sao Paulo world cup stadium - I'm guessing because the permanent lower tiers are at too shallow an angle for football. So it'll look decent on telly, but in the upper tiers looking down on the temporary ones it's not the best of sights.

Seen a few more effective photos than this, but my photobucket seems to have conked out and Im now using more effort on West Ham than making my tea, which is wrong, but anyway...

Edit: Replying to Marc

"The retractable seating is basically a very expensive version of the away end at Gillingham..."

Bloody hell - didn't realise it worked like that but I suppose it makes sense!

The club doing right thing get best deal for commentary rights, charge sheff u fans £28 decent ST deals, re-sign Wheater, great choice of manager I must say I'm very impressed in how we are being run and that's first time since Sam was here that I can say that.
