With the scrapping of the Air Passenger Duty for under 12's from 1 May 2015 should I expect a refund from Thomson?

 

I've booked a holiday next august for with the little one who is under 12 and I assume that the price I've paid included the duty?

 

Plus does anybody have an idea how much the duty is for a child currently?

 

Edit: I think its about £13 for a kid from what I can see online.

I'd have thought our chancellor would have realised that stamp duty was abolished in respect of property in 2003 and replaced with stamp duty land tax.

On a house costing £130K the duty is dropping from £1300 to £100.

 

For a £260k house the drop is from £7800 to £3000.

I wish they would backdate it a couple of years, it really pissed me off paying so much just for moving house. It must have been a real bastard for those on relatively low incomes down south where £250k gets you little more than a 1 bed flat. Good news and long overdue IMO.

Except that it's reaching a point were people can't afford to move, which in turn stops others getting on the first rung of the housing ladder.

Estate Agency fees aren't particularly high

Estate Agency fees are as much as the Stamp Duty on a £300K property...
