February 27, 201511 yr This is probably your benchmark then and would explain why you never seem to think it's that bad, when it actually is/was Hey, I'm not even going to disagree with that.
February 27, 201511 yr The worst I've ever felt coming away from a game of football was against Spurs in the abandoned cup game. Obviously turned out ok in the end but I was absolutely distraught and thought he'd had it. After that, Patterson giving Oldham an ill deserved late gift comes close for me. Otherwise we'd have been off to Wembley.

February 27, 201511 yr Apart from the ones mentioned,Pompey midweek 4-0,spurs 6-0 in league cup stand out for me. Not performance wise but only time I have cried was Southampton away in cup as a young lad it was to much and also was the journey home
February 27, 201511 yr Aaaaaarrrgh! NURSE! what have I told you about this before? Haha I agree but this thread made it unavoidable

Otherwise we'd have been off to Wembley. Agree with both, especially as I had to get back to Southampton after the Oldham game. The Spurs one had an atmosphere afterwards like no other - and I hope no other again. Other than that, Aldershot. Burnley had just flirted with going out of the league, and walking away from Burnden I really thought that could be us next year. 8 years later I walked away from Wembley after one of the greatest playoff games ever, with a place in a new fangled super-rich league booked. I'd never have thought that on the trudge away from Burnden having seen the Aldershot team coach driver picking bits of glass out of his face after someone caved his windscreen in.
February 27, 201511 yr Just to throw one in that hadn't been mentioned The 5-0 at Sheffield wednesday. That season its bad losing to a decent team by that score but they were shite, sacked their manager the week before and that lanky streak of piss petr rudi or whatever he was called took the piss All before half time and all

February 27, 201511 yr Haha me too. Wouldn't speak for a week I was still at home and burst into tears the following day when I heard who had been relegated on the radio!
February 27, 201511 yr I remember some bloke swinging a pole round a Chelsea car park. He was sadder than me just

February 27, 201511 yr I thought it was de canio who ripped Jimmy phillips?rudi, di canio, Andy booth whoever They all took the piss that day
February 27, 201511 yr Scarboro - surely the lowest point. I thought Scarborough away was ace! Hot day, seaside, scooter knobs having a go, that bloke that fell asleep leaning on a wall at the back of our end, chucking scooters off the sea wall, massive away following. Ok we got beat 47 nil or summat but fuck it, what an away day that was!!!!
February 27, 201511 yr rudi, di canio, Andy booth whoever They all took the piss that day Only ever seen two players get 10/10 ratings against us in Sunday papers. One was Di canio for Sheff Weds that day and the other was Paul Jones for Southampton when they drew 0-0 at reebok the same season.
February 27, 201511 yr Black Sunday but at the time didn't realise the significance. I'd go for boro cup final like gonzo. Should have had that in the bag! Stoke semi was embarrassing. Controversial... Should have put a full squad out and smashed Lisbon!
February 27, 201511 yr Scarboro - surely the lowest point. And to make matters worse there were almost 70,000 there.
February 27, 201511 yr I did cry when we got relegated at Chelsea. I was a wreck for days. There was a photo of me crying in the BEN after that game. Gutted.
February 28, 201511 yr This is probably your benchmark then and would explain why you never seem to think it's that bad, when it actually is/was Similarly I don't get over stressed at us being mid table in division 2
February 28, 201511 yr Aldershot play off's 2nd leg will always be the darkest of the dark for me Was this the match in 1987 when we were relegated? If it was - that was my first ever match! So actually, despite the result, quite a positive match for me as the next season I became a regular in the "sitting on the railings of the Burnden Terrace and only see your dad at full time" gang. For me, Boro in Carling final was frustrating as we had so long in the game to do something to get a result.
