No one is saying certain pricing promos can't work on a short term bump for a match, but the % dropped by the take up, gives such poor ROI it isn't worth it in the longer term and you end up devaluing

Th'East Midlands Whites are just back and are drinking heavily/medicinally. That's a bit quick I hear you ask? Aye, well never made the game.  Turned me ankle over yesterday and this morning thought

I'm not having it that he's got 4 mates

It's not about price, it's about perceived value.

Ticket discounts, on almost every event do not work hugely even in the short term.

If anyone is really bothered please visit thinkaboutpricing.com it's run by a company called Baker Richards, who are old friends and who've had the pleasure of working with many times. It might stop some of the complete bum drizzle that's written in here about pricing led marketing campaigns. I'm looking at you, Davidjack. I don't fault your desire and passion to bring people to see the team, but your thinking is a bit muddled as to why people pay for products, services and events.

How do you explain Bradford's crowds then? Double what they were a few years ago (and occurred while they were in league 2). It just happened? Or the fact they slashed season tickets to a hundred quid, did buy one get one free and various other deals played their part? You decide.

Fucking massive city, one football club, cup final in 2013, rugby club in demise?

Come on, you are bright enough to make such piss weak points.

And the perception is there is absolutely no value in 30 quid tickets for Millwall at home. And that perception is correct. Which is why people aren't coming in great numbers. But more will be tempted if it's a fiver. In other words, it absolutely is about price. Not solely of course (a shit team with a shit manager - see previous regime - will always struggle to give tickets away).

A fucking massive city that was getting 6k crowds ...which suddenly jumped to 12k - way before the 2013 Cup final. This was 5 or more years ago. And those fans have stayed.

Bradford have always had decent crowd when doing well. It's a bad example to use and proves zero.

Davidjack loves a thread about attendances

Not wrong Spider!

But they weren't doing well. They'd just got relegated to the bottom tier. And where the trend usually sees crowds drop further, they almost doubled theirs. And kept them. And eventually got promoted again. I'd say that does prove the point.

Fuck it then, point proven, you can stop ruining threads by boring on about it.

Right...

If the club improvement engagement with fans

We a have a manager in place who talks sense

Results start to pick up

Performances improve

Could price led promotions have a place to play to also help ?

Get the place rammed with women - let them in for nowt, play handbaggy stuff and lay on a free glass of shit sparkling wine on entry (to the club)...

Blokes being big daft c*nts will always follow their dicks - hey presto, full club.

Right Crawley, your area of expertise was or is theatre marketing. I have, on occasion, spent a few days with my family in that there London. Looking for things to do I've visited theatreland and wondered at the pricing structure. Have I ever wanted to paypay upwards of £200 for four of us spending an evening watching a stage play or musical? No, have I fuck! Would I spend £100 on the same evening's entertainment? Maybe I would.

Am I different than the rest of folk in that I don't go in thinking fuck it, I'm a tourist I'll pay whatever they ask?

Everyone on here should tell at least Bolton red or blue to fuck off this week. If those turncoats watched their local club then we wouldn't being having this conversation.

Let's see shall we, before we try and out negative each other. There's a week to go. We've not exactly been pulling up any trees of late and there's fuck all to play for, so hardly surprising folk aren't falling over themselves to get tickets, even at a fiver a throw. There'll definitely be a bigger crowd than we would have got otherwise though, so I don't really see a down side. Our group of 4 have all bought a ticket for a mate, fwiw...let's hope everyone on here and beyond can manage the same. NLSWA.

Plenty to play for. Enough excuses. Folk don't go cos they aren't really that interested.

EFA.

Surprised you make such a childish comment, know you are sulking cos DF got sacked but you are better than that.

Reducing prices for this wil mean there are more on, pretty sure we will have 2 extra, others here have mentioned others coming.

It is a start, an improvement whatever you want to call it.

Getting crowds back will not happen overnight, a combination of offers over time and results will make people return.

Look at the table and we are only not worrying a lot about relegation because bottom 3 are a way behind, so although those of us attending games have seen a shift upwards in term of performance, with blips like forest along the way, your floating fan has not seen this. However we also have a terrible injury list so the results are not as bad as they may seem but we do need to get behind the team and getting a few more on for a game we really must win is surely a good thing ?

the only way crowds will increase is if we look like getting promoted

price is not the issue

price is not the issue

I said that earlier.....but apparently it is

if we're top next october, there'll be 18 thou on

and 5k will be gloryhunters

Appreciated 1-3 £5 tickets off anyone who wasnt goin to claim any?

More the merrier n all

Its somewhere in the middle. Cheaper prices puts bums on seats, but ultimately results dictate crowds at bwfc
