Sky V Virgin?

Featured Replies

Been with sky for many years. I like to review it occasionally to weigh up the alternatives.

I have all the sport/HD and multi room. Phone , broadband with Sky. I pay about £90 a month.

Is it a mither changing and is it worth the hassle ?

Thanks

  • It's a way of watching sport for free.   I'd have thunk you'd be all over it

  • Me neither. Dodgy bastard with his airlines fare policy.

No. Unless you want to get a Dodgey box

pretty much the same, without multi room. Sick of virgin bombarding me with junk mail. Try to disguise it now so you'll open the envelope. Think I'll stick with sky

Phone sky up

Tell them you are moving to virgin

They wont want you to move

Sky will knock a load off your bill

Use your noggin

Sky for me all day long

Sky for me too but there's no cable here.

Nothing beats Virgins broadband speed Shirley?

Sky keeps losing signal, but I'm not a Branston fan

152Mb broadband wins. Virgins for me

sky plus 3 multirooms and virgin broadband about 140 a month

its only a couple of hours pay and half a season ticket

Bloody hell! I begrudge paying £40 for Sky.

Virgin broadband is the nuts mind. Makes Sky look like dial up.

Virgin BB and Sky TV. Gonna look at BT Infinity in July when my annual look around is due.

I tried this and spent a while checking the virgin package I was going to tell Sky I was getting.

Call went along the lines of;

"I'm leaving for Virgin so want to cancel my Sky TV, Phone and Broadband"

"Let's see if there's anything I can do Sir ..................... no there's nothing we can do as you can't get Virgin at your address"

"Ok I'll stay as I am, bye"

Probably worth a check on the Virgin site first!

virgin is more expensive compared to sky, but i prefer the virgin service and the tivo box. we got a free v+ box for our bedroom and free installation. the broad band is insanely quick.

I get 3meg with BT

no virgin or no sky

And if and when the box plays up (I've had to call them out once in 15 years, and not at all for at least the last 3 years(ish) that I've had the Tivo - you contact them and they repair or replace it - no fucking about writing to one of the Murdochs to try and get them to replace it.

I've got everything except Sky sports & movies - BT Sports 1&2 are included, and I use Acestream or KODI for HD sports, and movies I very rarely watch or get from the usual sources

Same, I only watch the sports on mine

everything else I watch is downloaded

What size dish do you need for Virgin and is it compatible with my Sky wiring?

No. Unless you want to get a Dodgey box

I know someone who had free cable for 15years. A bit more difficult to chip boxes now that digital rules. And if you do get a dodgy box I doubt very much you will get more than a year or two out of it.

These dodgy boxes, are they not just theft?

That's a bit of a pickle!
