frank_spencer Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 This lad can't be the first choice striker hardly prolific, if that's it its bollocks. IIRC hes a right winger rather than striker. Quote
Guest Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 he doesnt need to be a world beater to be good enough but i'm underwhelmed is that what saving reams wages and 1.5 million gets us? a kid and an out of contract italian right back? lets hope theres more to come Suspect Pisano is fairly expensive wages wise. And we are having to shave the wage bill again for next season. Not a surprise that we won't get much to spend. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 IIRC hes a right winger rather than striker. No problem with the signing but we need a striker who's been there done it. Quote
DomRepWanderer Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 No problem with the signing but we need a striker who's been there done it. Therein lies the problem, they cost money. Quote
Bigtoe Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 I've just watched two youtube vids of Wellington Silva. Looks fast, full of tricks and direct. The new Neymar. Probably the new Gael Kakuta.. Vladimir Weiss etc. etc. New contract signed at Arsenal. Had to play abroad due to permit issues. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Therein lies the problem, they cost money. We've just received 1.75 million for Ream, this Silva can't be the main striking option surely. Quote

I don't think Lennon will see any of the £1.75 million. The only money he will be able to spend will be the money we've saved from Ream's wages. Quote

I can't see that at all being the case if as has been rumored Hoopers the main attacking target that can't be the case, I doubt the budget will stretch to hooper but there must be players available for the money we have from the Ream deal. Kill Cricket Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 I don't really see the point in signing loan players anyway, other than as an emergency attempt to avoid relegation. In the new era, the club are surely going to want to bring through their own youngsters so they can flog them. Spending effort and wages developing the players of another club seems a waste. Quote

Sweep Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 I don't really see the point in signing loan players anyway, other than as an emergency attempt to avoid relegation. Perhaps we feel we are relegation fodder, and unless we get players in (and we can only do it via the loan system it would seem) we're going down, or certainly flirting with it Quote
Guest Blixa Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Wellington Silva, is he the first player were had named after footwear? Apart from Richard Sneakers obviously. Quote
Plums Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 You never know, this place could be his Waterloo. Quote

superkev Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 On 17 August 2015, Silva was rumoured to be joining Bolton Wanderers F.C. on loan for the 2015/2016 season. The move never materialised and later on the same day Silva signed for Nottingham Forest F.C to join up with his childhood hero Doogie Freedman who hosted his favourite tea time show 'Doogie Bingo Wings' Some great editing from someone on wiki haha Quote
Traf Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Silva scored 3 goals in 68 appearances in the last two years in Spain, averaging a goal every 1250 minutes or so. He makes Ngog look prolific. I'm not even whelmed in any direction. Quote
Anderson Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 (edited) I'm not even whelmed in any direction. That made me giggle, and I'm not a 12 year old schoolgirl so congratulations. Edited August 17, 2015 by Anderson Quote

Mounts Kipper Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 He's a winger. Seriously hoping a striker who can put the ball in the net is just around the corner. Quote
snowball Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 He's a winger. Where's the striker we need? Obvious Hooper WAS a pipe dream, you don't have to be on the board to know Lenny is getting precious little of the Ream money. If there was a modicum of ambition we would have gone for ALF (Lennon said he wanted him but a deal was beyond us!) Davies is pulling out and his lackey Gartside just wants to keep trousering his half a million salary for as long as possible, even in 3rd Division where we are heading. Lennon will not stick around MMW Quote
