May 27, 201511 yr contracts expire end of may, or maybe end of june not sure Usually end of June, so no scarf/shirt combo til then. Edited May 27, 201511 yr by Con
May 27, 201511 yr Have we actually signed anyone yet ? There's a suspicious lack of Macron, scarf, smiley pics. It is May. We are skint. We'll be signing frees and loans. Most of any activity will be in August once frees have decided on their options, and then the loan market.

May 27, 201511 yr I'm sure he will enjoy it on about £25K per week more than he would have been offered by Bolton. All this about players "wanting to play" is utter bollocks, it's all about the money. I'd like us to get Amos if he goes, as a few others have said, but I'm not so sure that we won't be priced out of that potential deal as well Wasn't it Winston Bogarde at Chelsea during the Ambromovich early days, got a nice big contract and never got played so they tried to ship him out. Admitted that he wouldn't leave because he was at the end of his career, had a nice big contract being paid for doing nothing

May 27, 201511 yr It's in the Sun as well so it must be true Good job nobody in Liverpool reads it then.
May 27, 201511 yr Bogdan is nowhere near as good as Mignolet, but he is a better back up than jones!!!Mignolet at his best is better than BoggersBut his propensity for dropping a ricket probably means overall Bogdan is a safer bet as a keeper.
May 27, 201511 yr We will see, Bogdan will sit on the bench, and play the odd cup game. Hard to be objective through tinted specs, but last season (when they finished 2nd) Mignolet was very good, and for Sunderland was brilliant. Just remember how bad Liverpools defence has been !?! Granted he has made some mistakes, but how many of them have come from being so unsure about the player infront of him. Not like me to defend a LFC player, but he is better then both our keepers.
May 27, 201511 yr It looks like Liverpool have offered just 2k a week more than we've apparently offered, which isn't that much, especially when Bogdan might be second choice. Be interesting to see how this pans out.
May 27, 201511 yr Liverpool in for Bogdan. (Nixon) Or his agent has told Nixon they have an interest.
May 27, 201511 yr It is May. We are skint. We'll be signing frees and loans. Most of any activity will be in August once frees have decided on their options, and then the loan market. So no meaningful pre-season again. That could explain the dull fixtures list. Well, what must be, must be.

May 27, 201511 yr Used to be 30th June Might not be now like That is when we can formally sign free agents. I'm sure Madine and Morgan and perhaps another one will be announced then. But lots of free agents hang around waiting for better offers. They will happen in August. And then loans after that. Lennon will obviously want his business done early. Won't happen though as it never does.

Be interesting to see how this pans out. Bogdan be a fool not to sign for Liverpool even if its only 2 k more the opportunity to play in the premiership and europa league too good to turn down, now Bolton should go and sign Amos and move on.
May 27, 201511 yr we might need amos to accept 5k a week he'll obvs do as hes told No point in messing about if Bogdan wont commit and Amos wont accept our offer we have to move on it does beg the question why let Lonergan go if we cannot tie up the other 2.
May 27, 201511 yr cos lonergan is on too much and we'd never get owt for him HTH Cant see Lonergans demands would cause us a problem and receiving transfer fees for players not going to happen for us too often nowadays as I think its more likely a player will run his contract down and thus negotiating a nice signing on fee.
May 27, 201511 yr you're not naive enough to think we were committing - allegedly - to a million quid a year on bogdan without an intention to sell him next summer? dangerous game anyway, cos id know bolton couldn't sustain one player on a million a year, so id want him on a free fwiw, i think transfer fees are actually our way forward young talent, sold for decent money, means significantly more to waste on shite
May 27, 201511 yr If we can't afford Bogdan, I don;t see us signing Amos Soz like see, i think amos and bogdan are different animals i reckon bogdan will fancy his chances of getting a first team gig in the prem amos, i'd argue, needs to play whether he'll play for what we can afford is another matter
May 27, 201511 yr Al Habsi and Jussi are free agents... I think we could do worse than them even now.
May 27, 201511 yr when you consider that even gomes looked a keeper and got promoted, theres little doubt jussi could do a job if his back is up to it i likes that idea he might even be happy enough on a pittance with the opportunity to do some coaching - not that he needs the hassle
