May 28, 201511 yr Lets face it, we're basically financially fucked. We may as well be under FFP like Forrest because we ain't spending or offering more than 10k a week. It will be like Kelly's heroes come next season (see Blackpool, Portsmouth) at the rte things are going. If Pratley and Bogdan don't want it - fuck em off. I'd rather see passionate 20 yr olds showing passion and pride rather than 28 yr olds counting the money. BTID Both pratley and bogdan have been asked to take wage cuts iirc. Hardly the crime of the century, them taking time to think it through. Fwiw I hope both re sign and we can start building a team around them. If they don't we move on. I haven't been as a confident of a manager to bring in the right players since the fat mans early days (I'm aware of plenty of duds too) I am still of the impression you can build a team for next too nought in this league with a bit of nouse, so for me it's all to play for.
May 28, 201511 yr This FFP is a joke basically you fall out of the premier league and unless you get back up first season or 2 your left in a fire sale position to meet FFP. I'm suprised it's not been legally challenged it's a restriction of trade and basically stops you investing to get back to the premier league. It's causing a tailspin that could end up with us dropping right down the leagues if were not careful.

May 28, 201511 yr Haha I love this site at times. Le fondre is off to Burnley off the back of juke going to them when they were a league above us:) I'm firmly in the it's still May, so let's not panic train of thought. I'm not thinking Alf will go because Juke did, I just feel they are better placed financially to do a deal if they do want him and based on him wanting the NW. If we manage to get him fair play to the club, top work. Agree on the other points though, can build a good side at this level for nothing and it is still only May. I can see after the last couple of seasons why fans want business done early though.

Sure, I'd like the business done early but at the same time early is probably the first week of July so no panic yet.
May 28, 201511 yr The brief glimpse at the last transfer window suggested Lennon has an extensive scouting network and in 'value' countries. I'd back him to build a decent squad. He would probably like to do it with Bogdan and Pratley, but if we can't afford them, move on. Contracts haven't even ended yet. I'll do the worrying in August.

May 28, 201511 yr I'd not be panicking about lack of signings now. It is May. We don't do much business early. The concern is more the situation around the ownership seeking investment, that we haven't yet agreed contracts with Eidur or Pratley and seemingly are on the brink of a significant financial shortfall that nobody wants to pick up the tab for. Of course it is all Chinese whispers but I doubt many season ticket holders are really relishing next season as it stands. Edited May 28, 201511 yr by bwfcfan5

May 28, 201511 yr Say it every summer. When I see them run out in a white shirt and the rev blows his whistle. I finally believe they have signed.

Whilst I don't agree with FFP on the basis that the rich will get richer it does force clubs to try and operate within their means. A general lack of contingency planning through over committing has left clubs like ours in a perilous position desperate for the next tycoon with either more money than sense or enough to gamble in the hope of going up.

May 28, 201511 yr Plan A: Phase One. kidnap Platini, insert lookalike that will change FFP. This could be Gareth Farrelly with some plastic surgery. Phase two: sell to Asian financial super company.. Something like Maggi chilli sauce.. Phase three: dominate the European football scene That or we create some revenue from ticket sales, and sell all our youth products. May 28, 201511 yr Hull city just released Paul mc Shane .would be a great signing for us .can play anywhere across back 4 . Hard as nails . They are going mental . Lot of my mates are season ticket holders . Their player of the season. Two problems ex united + wages.
