7 weeks? We only need another keeper, left back, right back, centre half, 2 wingers, defensive mid and 2 more strikers. No need to panic!

Plenty of time. Well, about 7 weeks. Fooked up pre-season again though, by the looks of it.

Could be another dreadful first 2-3 months once more, given the fixtures.

How? Considering contracts don't tend to start until July?

No news on Amos is it done?

Jesus! How big a squad do you think we can afford?

Nixon and Isles reckon Amos Madine and Pratley are done.

I don't think we need another keeper, and potentially only one more striker really. We have a lot of lads to come back from injury in the attacking positions (Clough, Clayton etc.). I don't think we can afford to take that many players on, so I'd limit the "must buys" to a solid midfielder and full backs.

Who's our backup keeper then, should Bamos pick up a knock?

Until Amos actually signs we definitely need a keeper. We've gone from having two of the better keepers in this league to none.

A tough looking August means I hope we do our business before preseason, though realistically we may have to wait to get the right deals. A good start can make such a difference in this league.

Amos deal done, just can't announce til 070715 - same with Madine

How come other clubs can announce out of contract players already? What are the rules on this, Bogdan for example.

Gudjohnsen and Heakey still not been offered contracts according to the Bolton News. But Madine and Amos done deals in same report.

Anyone who genuinely isn't worried about our situation is kidding themselves. Owner wants out won't invest any more and we therefore have no money to play with. Nobody wants to invest the serious sums required. And the two most advanced proposals have fallen through.

We aren't playing the transfer game of waiting till the last minute or bargaining. We are broke and unless someone puts money in we will go with what we've got and fight relegation again.

We've been in worse positions.

Maybe they were released, as opposed to working down a contract. Or maybe people are on holiday etc etc.

Yes we have but it doesn't make the current situation feel any better. The last 6-7 years running of the business have been catastrophic the amount of write offs would have seriously dented bigger clubs than Bolton losing Muamba, Holden, Elmander for nothing, wages wasted on the likes of Andrews, Beckford, Sean Davies, and a raft of others is down to bad luck and poor managers throw in the relegation and I'm surprised we have got this far without going bust. I don't know where this tailspin is going to end. It begs the question would we have been better off giving Sam that 20 million in the January of the year he quit. Any how won't change anything from my view point once a white always a white.

It doesn't make it better, but it puts it into context.

If you just want the good times, go support Chelsea. As you well know, you aren't going to get it in Bolton now or ever.

Personally I think we will be comfortably mid-table this year and with another 6 or 7 in before the season starts.

I know the optimism might hurt some folk, but that's where I am.

This is where I'm at.

It's about time folk stopped licking their wounds and crack on with things.

We are a championship club with a championship wage bill(ish) and we are on level playing field with a good proportion of this division.

We have some belting prospects in our sqaud and as we've seen with other teams who've done well in this division,a couple of golden nuggets and strong unit is all it takes.

Its all going to be fine. Trust me. We are Bolton....we always come back.

That's what they said about Jon Snow  :innocent:

I'd never heard of Madine until recently. Who is this "Heakey"?

I'm hoping solid, big, midfielder

And this. I'm really not getting the doom and gloom. Were skint, yes, but so is nearly every bastard else. Players contracts haven't expired and were still over a week away from preseason. It really isn't that bad. Yet.

At least we are in the most open and competitive league.

Who's our backup keeper then, should Bamos pick up a knock?

I'm sure we have a youth keeper or two, and we can always bring in emergency loan keepers if we are really stuck.

We're not really in a position where we can have two quality players for any one position any more. We just have to hope for a less injury-plagued season.
