'craft' Ale...

Thoughts anyone? I think it's a good thing a the right price, really gone off most lager past few years and wine and cider often leads to missing weekends, so also have a wide berth. These ales have introduced a new and necessary concept to me-moderation...Again, thoughts anyone, oh aye, Chester Moonshines was it a different pub or a furniture shop previously?

  • Craft ale is a better product, better marketed than the mass market swill you dole out.   Then again I would prefer a real ale over either of them.

  • I will buy you a pint of John Smiths Smooth Flow on Saturday then.

  • Anyone who thinks they are a punk by drinking a beer you can buy in Tesco is a twat.

Won't be renewing but will spend a bit more getting the odd new ale from Booths or summat.

You cant knock the selection at Booths if you happen to have one convenient for home or work. Not as overpriced as some of the food is in there neither.

They were selling Bloody ell for £2 a pop

I got a beer 52 subscription off the Mrs for my birthday, £120 for 6 months. It's good but there's always one ale you don't drink until you are steamers and it's either that or turps. Usually a porter that tastes like death.

see for me they don't send enough porters or stouts, I get to many farmhouse, sours or gose beers

I had a sour one last month and it was bang on. We should organise a beer52 swop shop like we do with the panini stickers every 4 years!

bloody hell the beer doesn't last 4 days let alone 4 years.

everybodys tastes are different, and the darker the beer the more I tend to like it

Just supped a lovely can of Redwell Steam Lager

Think I got it from Tesco but not sure. Very nice. More like an IPA. I'll be getting that again

Had a call from Beer52 this weeks offering 2 free bottles with my next box. Told them I was cancelling so they dropped price to £15 and still got 2 free. One bottle retails at £5.75!!

Apparently it is standard practice to drop price to £15 if you call to cancel

ive got 4 varieties of brewdog going down

the electric india is a great discovery

Wasn't keen on thst miself

Find saisons to be a bit "washing up liquidy" in flavour

For me their best one is Elvis Juice

Pelt Trading Co, at the side of Cannon St underground is a belting place for real ale at reasonable prices.

The electric is very wheat beer ish in flavour

Elvis is a bit too citrussy

All about what you like, I guess and at least there's a choice to be had

Had some of their Tactical Nuclear Penguin a while back.

The outcry over such a strong beer caused them to call their alcohol free beer Nanny State

The Brew Dog milk stout is top notch.

Must admit that I like everything they do, and it's getting expensive.

Not had that one yet - will have to try

Dead Pony Club is my favourite of theirs. Not keen on the Elvis Juice. Drinkable but not really for me

Word of advice... Don't drink Elvis juice at 9.30am for an away day otherwise you'll end up a dribbling wreck by half time like me at port Vale last season.

Love the stuff but its rocket fuel and too easy to drink.

If you think Elvis Juice is dangerous then you need to stay well clear of Brewdog's Mr President which is 9.2%. Not quite a session IPA. Was drinking Beavertown's Gamma Ray last night. Very good.

Nice couple of pints of White Witch today

Wild Beer salted caramel and chocolate milk stout and magic rock salty kiss this evening.

Anybody used rammy craft?

Look to have a nice selection

Not had Mr President but Gamma Ray is also very drinkable too, is that 7%. Had a couple and had to move on to Neck Oil.

If you like Elvis juice try Clwb Tropicana.

The thing about the fruit infused ones is some do taste awful and artificial so cam be hit and miss

Had a pineapple ipa recently by oceans, about £4 a can, grim

Mojo by Robinsons, 1.50 a bottle, lovely
