Eddie has had some abuse these past few weeks, a lot of it unwarranted by idiots.

  • So a bloke who gave us £150million is asking that his contribution be remembered by naming a room after him. Not a stand or the entire stadium. A room.   He's also asking that instead of getting his

Depends what you Google (obv).

I prefer the fact that his dad played in the 58 cup final for Bolton.

Wouldn't that be good, if it was true? I don't remember Birchy, either before or after, playing as well as he did in the 58 FA Cup Final. I hope he is keeping well.

It would be nice to think that Trevor played a blinder in our present difficulties. ED did brilliantly to get him on board and they delivered what ED promised but we have gained little other than time and are still reliant on the dwindling remains of ED's investment in freeing up the assets.

I expect that by now Deano has a valuable employment contract that he was unlikely to have got anywhere else and that Anderson will have ensured that he also is suitably rewarded for his trouble. Neither are likely to have been foolish enough to put their own money in (even if they had some spare).

Can you imagine if PG had bought the club? Fucking meltdown!

ED would rather the club went to the dogs rather than let it go without his twatish clauses being met.

I still don't think a lot of people realise actually how close we were to going properly under.

I think folk are forgetting or choosing to.

We are still close to going under imo.

Rob holding may just about save the day

This with big fuck off bells on it, no one but no one can defend ED anymore the man turns my stomach. He should be chased out of Bolton and the stadium.

So PG was in charge of finding buyers....but wanted to buy it himself??

like when Megson's agent was interviewing prospective Managers before he got the gig

only at BWFC!

That's a new one and it's a bit whiffy to say the least

Didn't Souness start that rumour ?

Phil Gartside probably vetoed him from signing Jean Alain Boumsong again in the first 30 seconds, and he probably went "Right . i'm off then"

...and Hillary Stonefrost a massive finger blasting.

Good article - doesn't offer much hope long term though really.

Liked one of the comments below (for once), hope they're paying this bloke for doing the BN's job for them haha. Whilst on the subject, I'm surprised the BN has left the comments section open for a report on the main page about a new 3 storey mosque being opened in Great Lever. Online baiting at its best.

Haha saw that. Wasn't Marc Iles painting his spare bedroom the day we were a split second from going under?

I noticed an article on there written by yon fella from Burnden Aces the other day as well.

It's like tripe'n'trotters fanzine that paper nowadays.

Yeah, was his day off I think! LOV (we trolled Feeney on twitter all season but now he's alright) Suite writers have had articles on there too.

Always good for a look on the BN site, Bolton's Most Wanted is a particular favourite.

She was involved in the Pompey court case too

So, if SS hasn't bought us the club would've folded? For that reason alone I think we should give this regime a chance.

Nice to see the last paragraph from Ian Firth regarding he presidency of the club being handed over to Eddie Davies and the hope a new owner will return it back to Nat Lofthouse.  The sooner we erase Eddie Davies from our history books/ground/town/stand/suite the better.

It seems they fought tooth and nail to acquire the club.

They even suffered their main investor pulling out right at the last minute.

They were the only ones prepared to take on ED's wankish demands and even took on a massive tax bill that they had nothing to do with.

Fair fucks to them and Trevor Birch.

I've still no idea want SS want Bolton Wanderers for mind. It's certainly not going to make them any money in the short term. They may as well have bought a race horse and a couple of Rolex watches.
