My worry is these useless turds we still have playing for us next season on stupid money, I can't see anybody wanting them after all the shit performances this season. They will not leave for less money so all I can see is relagation again and possibly administration.

Ex player supposedly put a petition in on the winding up order. Didn't show up though

Dean Holdsworth and Sports Shield aren't getting the credit they deserve for this. They've saved the football club. But all fans seem to bang on about is how much money they have. Does it really matter at this stage, when we were heading for liquidation? Even if that is all they can ever do, that is better than leaving it up to the court and HMRC to dismantle the football club piece by piece?

stelios? Quietly going about his business

I tend to agree with this.

Hehe my brother sent that same response to me

It might explain why they can't be arsed working their socks off.If I wasnt being paid in my job I'd be doing the bare minimum until I left.

and i was your boss, you'd be first out of the door.

those who put the effort in to getting the company back on track would be rewarded when such a time occurred.

"working their socks off" IS their job. For which they are still contracted and being paid handsomely. NO MORE EXCUSES.

This. I'm certainly not in the Eddie is a baddie SS are the goodies camp. But this was the best deal on the table, even if it appears to be potentially costly and risky for the club.

It was not the best on the table , it was the "ONLY" one on the table

What about the Supporters Trust and Roger Tampax?

And so also the worst

It must indeed be difficult to give your full attention during such times. However their best chance of ensuring further employment would be to put some effort in.

Moreover, if a company goes into admin, then employees may find themselves instantly down the road. We've already heard how as footballers they are protected more than the tax man, with a union to help out.

Many people would love such protection.

And there's also professional and personal pride. You do it because you can. Seen many clubs' teams graft during tough times and sometimes start to perform well. An all in it together mentality.

Not this lot. If they'd shown a modicum of the qualities their experience and wages suggest they should have, they probably wouldn't be in the situation they are.

But if you saw your "employers" every other week and heard their opinion would that not change your mind ?

And would your professional pride allow you to do the bare minimum ? And having done the bare minimum would you be confident in getting other employment ?

I dont know you, but I bet I know the answers to all the above.

No, because he's a twat

What about the Supporters Trust and Roger Tampax?

I believe he is still plugging away at it and is dissapointed about the leaks.

They're just stringing him along for a couple of months.

They better hurry, we've had the painters in and can't afford to pay em.

Mixu Pantyliner is said to be involved as well.

Rumours like that do the rounds every month, but lets face it, we'd all be a little disappointed if he was in

It's a rumour I'm pretty happy to hear every month tbh.

I tend to agree with this.

From what I understand, it might well have been in ED's financial interest to have put the club into admin before the court case but it seems obvious that this was something he wanted to avoid (you might say at all costs). When Phil Gartside died and he had given his commitment there was no turning back but neither was there any guarantee that SS would come up with anything worthwhile at all.

Given more time, the ST might have offered something better but there wasn't time and could they quickly gather enough expertise to run the business anyway?

Those who remember the Rioch years will acknowledge that achieving success with very little is much more satisfying than buying it with a lot. The next few  years are going to be very challenging and I believe we will need something like the kind of inspiration that Rioch brought to BWFC in the 1990s. It will not be easy with 'absent landlords' with no roots in the Bolton community and objectives that are likely to be focused on returns on investment.

Sadly the great majority of Eddie's millions were spent after Big Sam left. It paid off substantial bank debt but the rest didn't buy success so much as subsidise failure.

Not a single nod of thanks in Birch's direction?

I'd say his CV of saving clubs is adding up nicely.

Cheers Trev.

he's like the littlest hobo, the highway to heaven man and Dr. Sam Beckett all rolled into 1. He's probably on his way now to save QPR or Villa.
