I've thought long & hard about my feelings when this thread started.   I've kept quiet until I could put myself in a quiet calm reflective mood about it, so I didn't let my snap judgement be exp

  • Funny you should say that, Garrp is just about to sign up to the full package from SKY on an 18 month contract

  • I just find it all rather tacky and embarrassing.   In the old days when we were shit, I was always proud to be a Bolton fan.   In the more recent successful days it was great and people knew I ha

I think working for a football is not a typical job. I get the club can not support the numbers we have at the moment but the number of staff (and players) at the Xmas do is a testament that they are more committed than many on here who have said if they were not getting paid they would fuck off.

That ain't a dig at people who have said that, but it shows more commitment than people in 'normal' jobs.

I will donate a few quid to the just giving collection, because the staff at the club are part of the club and as stated I bet a lot are fans as well.

I could handle being in the bottom league as we've been there before. I don't think I could handle non league football though. Imagine what fans of Grimsby, Lincoln, Aldershot, Darlington etc have been through. Doesn't bear thinking about tbh.

Might not have to imagine it soon.

If the crowd fundingtarget of 20k represents a months wages for admin staff, and we take an average ticket price of £15 - that means each match we need 800 people through the gates just to cover the admin staff wages - frightening

and we know the average ticket price is actually only £8.50, so you can double that number

2003

i did wonder about that and i think its worse

where did the 20k come from?

i don't think that will cover 300 staff for a month?

ie 1200 weeks pay?

ahh, but do we though

its bollocks that figure

we're making a fortune

I don't know how to do anything else other than follow Bolton Wanderers. I can't imagine that being any different no matter where we end up.

and with some very basic maths, you can see how bad stuff really is.

If we take PG for instance, and say he is on £300K per year (we know it's more) - say we have 30 home games a year (feeling generous with a bit of a cup run) - then at the average ticket price of £8.50, it needs 1176 people through the gate just to pay his wages  :|

dont forget his pension contributions

and NI

i think if we get a buyer, everybody will be relieved

sadly, its very unlikely with the names in the frame that we will see anything like the bwfc we know  knew earlier this year

it really could be out of the frying pan and into bigger, hotter frying pan

It's a good job attendances are just a small part of our revenue then.

here we go :)

the hotel takes about 7 million

the hotel costs about 7 million to run

what else should we consider

7 pounds 68 tv money?

Id like to know how much macron pay us. Just out of interest.

I bet they're delighted to have invested in shirt and stadium sponsorship  :glare:

Any publicity is good publicity, believe me.

If Macron has an aggressive creative management team then they would have had more than their fare share of (positive) exposure from this.

It appears they don't

Nope. Life will go on ... and so will BWFC in some form.

I've already accepted there's going to be no miraculous speedy recovery from this mess. There's no point in worrying about it.

2nd post on thread. That'll do for me. Not reading anymore.

It's quite convenient that it's 7 million in 7 million out no tax to pay, accounts can be manipulated to say virtually anything, the football side of our accounts also a load of tosh and are manipulated to suit the purpose of Eddie Davies. Not saying Eddies not put lots in but I'm 100% sure it's a lot lot less than the books show.

I'd have thought the hotel would have washed its own face and made a small contribution to boot, purely assumption

Did de Veres make it work or they fuck it off because it was a dead rubber? I can't remember the details

De Veres cut back a lot of their properties at that time.

De Veres cut back a lot of their properties at that time.

Correct think they were also going through financial difficulties.

Quick question; what name did De Veres trade under previously? It's one every Boltonian will know.

Lot's of stuff going on behind the scenes. Staff will be getting paid over Christmas and players . Loans (secured) to club from 'sympathetic' sources but only to tide us over until New Year. Only hope is Birch finds someone that Eddie feels will look after the club
