I've thought long & hard about my feelings when this thread started.   I've kept quiet until I could put myself in a quiet calm reflective mood about it, so I didn't let my snap judgement be exp

Nope. Life will go on ... and so will BWFC in some form.

I've already accepted there's going to be no miraculous speedy recovery from this mess. There's no point in worrying about it.

Players will have cash but there's loads more backroom/office staff who may not be getting paid before xmas shit timing feel for them

It's doing my head in now.

Spending 16 hours a day on here talking about it probably doesn't help :D

I'm pissed off that my old man is on the verge of seeing us back down the divisions with sub 10k gates. We will probably never recover in his life time.

Then there's my lads. I remember what it was like supporting a division 3 team round here. That's if I can even get em into Bolton.

Sat freezing their tits off in a silent empty stadium is hardly going to be enjoyment for them.

I think it's my lad that I'm feeling it for he's gutted. Every day the first question from is Dad have we got new owner? That's every morning and night.

In all honesty, no.

It's dragged on that long it's getting boring. No matter what happens, BWFC will still exist in some form or other. I'm certainly not going to upset my self about something I have absolutely no control over

its the kids I feel for, hard enough with Prem footy on TV and United & City all over the place. They are your future.

Nope.

Fuck em. Stiff upper lip and all that.

Wake up in the morning and be glad you dont support wigan

Wigan are shit

mk would never support wigan

he's a manc, so would probably upgrade his sky and go back to his beloved reds

him n garp could share the sofa

I'd sooner support Wigan than that lot at OT.

Whilst it's demoralising, it's not the end of the world.

Very interesting to see Carlisle players donning gloves and helping out in their local community. One of their keepers finished up with an industrial waste bin on top of his car. Such is the more down to earth nature of players at such clubs.

Not sure many of our players have such an affinity for fans and folk of the town. Would have liked to have seen them up there too- might help to realise how lucky they are.

I doubt they'll lose much sleep over the club's plight.

As has been posted above, the club will continue in some way. Family, health etc more important.

i honestly don't give a shit anymore

the sooner something is announced the better, then we can all move on

COYWM

If this was out of the blue I might feel worse than I do currently; but this was always one of the most likely outcomes if we didn't 'do a Partridge'.  I think the clubs heart & soul got torn along with Holden's knee that day . .  . been down hill ever since

I'd feel a part of my soul had been stolen if the club ceased to exist but I can't see that outcome no matter how grim things are currently.

We reached for the stars and got our fingers burned! But for me to see BWFC competing at the top of the Prem and in Europe was something I thought I'd never see as a wee nipper sat on't Lever End circa 86/7.

Will always be grateful for that - just gutted we couldn't put a major cup win on the list!

As someone said above - I do feel sorry for the kids.  Must be proper gut wrenching . . . but to any out there, I was at school when we were shit(er) and Man U were on the rise.  That was f'in painful beyond belief!

Being totally honest it's affecting me more than it should, and more than i thought it would at my age.

The agony lies in the wait for me... I just want whatever is going to happen, happen...

The wanderers may end up wandering again. But feck it, still be my club

Being totally honest it's affecting me more than it should, and more than i thought it would at my age.

I started telling my bestie about it today, she's not footbally but always takes an interest for my sake. Anyway, i thought I was ok with it all, shit happens and all that, till I was explaining. When you say it, it sounds so fucking depressing. She even gave me her understanding, are you ok, face. I don't think I've seen that since my dad died.

So, in short, what captainmed said.

I just find it all rather tacky and embarrassing.

In the old days when we were shit, I was always proud to be a Bolton fan.

In the more recent successful days it was great and people knew I had been there when we were shit so even better.

Even as the debt grew I have always said that at least we have never screwed anyone over by not paying our bills, to now think of staff at the club not being paid their wages when not that many years ago we were signing players like Anelka, Youri  Jay Jay stinks.

The idea that the owner and Board had no exit plan in terms of the debt and how we would move forward seems incredible and how our cost base must be so out of line with our income is frankly scarey.

I wont stop going or supporting the club but it all feels grubby.

It takes me back to the days when Sir Nat grabbed the mike on the centre circle versus Shrewsbury and appealed for us to back the club via the Lifeline.

32 years ago, yet the memory is still very vivid of that 4-1 defeat.

Crowds were dire, something like 4,500 that day, whilst barely half a decade earlier we were averaging 20,000 at home and taking shitloads away.

Even in those days, the board were accused of taking money out of the club, the likes of the Warburtons and Co got serious grief IIRC.

The days of trying to compete in the top tier sadly seem to rip this club apart, history from my generation seems to agree with this.

Whatever happens herein, there'll always be a Bolton Wanderers in some shape or form, it may even bring the community together again, just like it in did in the mid to late eighties when the real fans showed their mettle and pulled together, creating unforgettable memories for that generation of total not rights.

I don't go anywhere near enough nowadays compared to those silly days mainly due to caring for my folks, but it's still there in my heart and always will be.

The worst thing is the patronising twats from other clubs constantly asking " what's happened to your lot ?".......they're usually rudely rebuffed with a quick " go and fuck yourself"

We'll survive somehow, but it's going to be tough.

The fat lady hasn't sung yet.

A Wanderer by choice, Boltonian by the grace of God.

It feels like the pride and passion is stripped away and we are now just like the other clubs who've been in similar positions, clubs we've shaken our heads at in the past.

All is very sad indeed.

No.

I'm not a kid anymore, I have a healthy interest in the club, but the days of losing sleep are long gone. I think the Premier League era and beyond gradually sucked the life out of that.

I know people are working hard to sort this out. People who are likely close to folk who might lose their jobs. Me worrying isn't going to change things,

Being totally honest it's affecting me more than it should, and more than i thought it would at my age.

Me too. Think it's because we thought that we never go back to be being really shit even if we were relegated which was always likely to happen. Thought that my lad wouldn't have to see that. But way its looking it's bloody grim.

I am concerned even if I know it's a waste of time. There are three generations of us who go and I think we all feel the pain.

Also what I can't believe is that (even without administration and any points deduction) we are looking like we might struggle to match Blackpool's record low total last season! Fook me that is embarrassing

Going through something similar at work at the moment, so that's keeping my mind off this
