To be fair to Trump some media outlets were trying to blame him this weekend for the flags at the white house not flying at half mast long enough in honour of John McCain.

There was a video of McCain doing the rounds at the weekend which showed his class and Trump’s utter lack of it. At a campaign rally McCain told folk making wild accusations about Obama that he was as basically a good man with whom he had political disagreements with and not an Arab or a supporter of terrorism.

 

At best Trump would have done a shrug and a “you could say that but I couldn’t possibly comment”.

He was asked several times to comment on McCain but couldn't bring himself to utter a few comforting words for the McCain family. He should have acknowleged his patriotic service to his country in war and in Congress. McCain is a thousand times more of a man and a father than the draft dodging coward trump is. That just took me 20 seconds and I'm not even the 'leader if the free world'.
