:D I saw you use that phrase in parody once so appropriated it

S'alreet pal. At least you see the funny side unlike some I could mention.

That term was not my invention by any means. It was a hysterical Remainer on here the day after the referendum result was announced - desperately seeking some sort of strand to grasp at to help him understand how it all went so horribly wrong for those blase and sanctimonious fuckers who thought Remain was an absolute racing certainty.

We have some very significant old growth forests here in Western Australia (mainly Karri, Marri and Jarrah) which require serious management to avoid wildfires like they have just had in California. I know of these quite well because the forestry industry is a significant customer to my employer.

As mentioned in the wildfire thread, we have had one town called Yarloop wiped out by a wild fire fairly recently with far less severe consequences to the likes of Paradise, Ca. - mainly because of being much more sparsely populated.

'Serious management' comprises of much raking, cleaning and removing of flammable matter/dead vegetation from the forest floors as well as judicious back burning where weather and other conditions allow.

Not sure if the post above was meant to be a piss take? If so, the piss takers might want to educate themselves a little more before embarrassing themselves.

Why did he quote Finland though? Even their president was baffled about a conversation they've never had. Finland is basically water with a few trees on top.

Tell Finland

"The U.S. leader’s comment generated amusement on social media in Finland, which manages its vast forests with scientific seriousness."

What a fucking moron.

He quoted Finland because it fit in with his agenda of pushing forest management. He may well be right about the concept. I don’t know. But it’s hard to believe anything he says when he does things like this and just makes up conversations.

This is the chap who is all about accusing others of fake stories.

He'd have been better using bolty's example, as it's more similar in terms of climate. Bloody hot!

But luckily I arrived in the nick of time in my workboots and hi-viz and doused down the surrounding area with my own piss.

Needless to say I had the last laugh

Not sure if he genuinely believes in it or not, or is just sticking to his not argument to save face. Surely he must accept it some time.

Spoken like a true Remoaner.

Last Sunday, many of you stood to remember what you would now term as 'owd racist cunts'. Y'know, those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for you to have the right to call them that.

Aye - go on then, how do you make that leap?

Because, stealing, or, put more mildly, appropriating, the valour of others is a much-loved tool of tools of a certain ilk...

Getting a States nickname wrong is hardly on the level of a previous president calling a Mayor (who was stood in the same room as him) by the wrong name.

But I get it, it’s Trump and everyone needs to know about it....deary me

It’s the name of the town that has just been destroyed by fire. Not a States’ nickname.

I stand corrected...I thought Paradise was a made up nick name

Daft yanks and daft town names go hand in hand

The good people of climax and slickpoo fully agree

He didn't get the state name wrong, he got the place name wrong

He's a fucking idiot who doesn't think before he speaks. He still thinks he is working for Trump Corp and can say whatever he wants and won't be challenged. Surely he has people who coach him on speaking in public and PR but then again he probably thinks he knows best.

Yes this has already been discussed. Thanks for clarifying though

to be fair, it's just one in a long line of what you might call gaffes, it's not like he's being deliberately insensitive or anything on this occasion

being laughed at because you're a fuckwit is not something that is reserved for trump, or something he's singled out for

george w bush got exactly the same treatment

it's just that Trump is very good at it and equally as consistent

I wonder why many of Obama’s gaffes never got as much coverage?
