All this "well 'ard" talk of him forcing under age people to have sec with him, is every bit as pathetic as the guy himself.

More salient point is his stupidity with regard to testing nuclear weapons.

The numbty doesn't seem to understand the difference between testing nuclear warhead delivery systems, and the warheads themselves.

There is absolutely no need to test any- it has been done thousands of times, and there is nothing new to learn that would be advantageous. They can kill millions and make the planet virtually uninhabitable.

Hopefully, it is just another of his ramblings on social media.

He would be far better giving Ukraine more assistance with long range strike capability.

They're doing such a good job in general, but could just do with being able to hit Putin's missile and drone plants.

That would almost certainly bring Russia to the table.

Just a bit of sabre rattling. Putin's been doing it for a while now. Two can play at that game.

'Clearly'. What a fucking moonman. 'Starman' may have been more appropriate. A truncation of 'Starmer man'.

Don't encourage him FFS.

Genuine question as had this debate with a mate in the pub once. If there are allegations against a potential paedophile should they always be investigated? And does or doesn’t the time lapsed since those alleged crimes were committed make a difference to this decision?

Probably best to ask someone who thinks it isn't just an absolute beat up to make political capital.

They'll get tired of trying to pursue this line of character assassination one day.

Think the grey area was when it was pretty common for 18 year old lads to be fucking about with girls still in year 11.

Remember girls in my year off with lads in cars and shit.

Indeed.

Hopefully, that's all it is.

It's just his statement about Russia doing nuclear tests- it isn't accurate.

Hopefully, that's simply another one of his fluffy, off the hip comments.

The sub-sea drone with the huge warhead is certainly a concern; maybe addressing that directly, although not in too much technical detail, would be better.

Def a grey area here.  A quick google of (uk) law is below. I think practically therefore it’s all about abuse. Abuse of trust, power, position etc.  For me therefore on the original question it’s really clear - yes, always investigate and no, elapsed time doesn’t matter. It really is criminal therefore that the Epstein files are being withheld, especially by those who are (probably) guilty within. Nothing to hide? Just publish. Simple.

It is a criminal offence (sexual assault) if you have sex with someone when you or they are under the age of 16, even if you have both given consent. The law assumes that children under the age of 13 do not have the capacity to consent to sex and this would be classed as statutory rape.

However, although it is still against the law, young people aged 13 to 15 are unlikely to get into trouble if the sexual activity is consensual and there is no evidence of exploitation.

I suppose there has to be a law, with cut offs, to ensure prosecutions can take place where exploitation etc occurs.

It doesn't have to be used where it clearly isn't appropriate to do so.

On another thread, about film lines, there is reference to "A time to kill".

Yes it's only a film, but there is a prosection/defence argument around this sort of issue, which sums up this grey area.

Great speech by Obama as usual this last week. What an orator and leader. Class. How the US and world could do with him now. Chalk and cheese compared with the thick orange moron currently filling his own pockets and taking a wrecking ball to democracy.

"I mean, they've devoted enormous energy to trying to entrench themselves in power and punishing their enemies, and enriching their friends, and silencing their critics," said Obama. "They've put on a big show of deporting people and targeting transgender folks."

"They never miss a chance to scapegoat minorities and DEI for every problem under the sun. You got a flat tire? DEI. Huh? Wife mad at you? DEI," he mocked.

"What they have not devoted energy to is helping you," Obama continued. "They have not put forward serious proposals to lower housing costs or make groceries more affordable. They haven't improved our schools. They haven't made healthcare more accessible. They haven't shortened your commute or prepared young people for the future where AI might take their job."
