You're right to acknowledge the point that there is no difference between our brains by the way. 

These traits in genetics are vanishingly small. And massively outwieghed by environment. So no - I don't think genetics does explain the rise of ISIS. It's much broader and more complicated than that. At best - it might explain why a very small percentage of people (fewer than 1%) might be more genetically predisposed to join ISIS. 

If Trump was making an argument about culture, or nurture, or exposure to trauma then I might have been more inclined to agree with him.

But he's specifically talking about genetics. And deliberately conflating that with immigration. Which is extremely murky waters indeed. 

I stand by my original point. He's either a nationalist bordering on using fascist language - or he's too thick to understand the context behind his words. Or both. Either way it's intellectually sloppy. 

My hope is it's the latter as he's not exactly got a track record of cerebral prowess. Apart from when he aced that dementia test of course 😁

They're talking about recent attacks in the US by immigrants

They're immigrants who are sick or turn bad because of their genetics

They’re sick people, and a lot of them were let in here. They shouldn’t have been let in. Others are just bad. They go bad. Something wrong — there’s something wrong there. The genetics are not exactly, they’re not exactly your genetic

From what I can see and hear he was asked about ISIS, it’s hardly dissecting it’s the main part of the topic….unless  my hearing is the problem?

FFS 🤣 - he WAS asked about ISIS. And it's a pretty simple question. Unfortunately the answer he gave about why people join ISIS (genetics) is a massive load of bollocks that nobody has taken seriously for the best part of the past 100 years. 

There were literally a hundred legitimate reasons he could have pointed to that (actually) explain why people join extremist groups. But he chose to ignore all them and start talking about genetics.

Correct. Culture is the huge difference and mainly why horrendous things happen in the world.

Genetics has fuck all to do with any of it and if anyone is even remotely suggesting or implying it has needs to take a very long and hard look at themselves. Perhaps their culture has misshapen them and they have lost their reasoned thinking.

I agree. Although I'd argue they have become sick through their exposure to their environment - rather than there being some sort of genetic problem with them. Which is what is being implied.
