Moses Gate

To shut its doors after the Pink Floyd tribute band has played there, Ray says it's 'a stalemate with the buildings owner' so it looks pretty shit for music in the town from now on. Not good

Not that I go regularly but that's shit news. Hope something gets sorted out.

Not many pubs in Bolton showing Live bands regularly.

I think the Railway in B/X sacked it.

Anyone care to name any Bolton pubs still having live music?

always sad to see those kind of places closing up

The Alma, though I doubt whether some would class it as 'music', and I always seem to get into verbals with one cockend or another in there because I don't dress like Swampy.

Booo, where am I going to watch Straighten Out, boooooooo

Hennigans on Bury Road, but it's sometimes a ticket jobby.

WD40 was my personal fav

Man and scythe still has live music

Rope & Anchor, Jolly Nailor and PunchBowl in Athy all have live bands at weekends

Both the henighans pubs have live music. Mainly tribute bands. Like you say the bury road one usually has ticket charges but little lever doesn't.

For any body that has not been in the Moses Gate to watch a Band , you have truly missed out.

To see a Tribute Band can be as good as the real thing as well as impossible to see the real bands.

I have seen some belters in the years a Beatles tribute band , ( no matter how much money i may or not have , it is impossible to ever see the Gods made Mortal ) play in there once a year then tour Australia New Zealand Japan Canada etc must be good to do that ,

Blondie tribute , Proper horny little piece and excellent .

The Who tribute band 10 / 10 not only music but looks as well .

The 80s and 70s tribute bands are value for money £ 8 quid to watch a full night of cracking music and proper Holts Bitter to go with it

Not into the Heavy Smelly Head Banging Shite that is on the majority of the time but a fair few Fitties as well as Fatties are always in the place , Finger Pie Is usually on the menu !!

Horses for courses every body , Men exclusively has a Duty , no not duty Birth Right , to be able to go into the Local Pub and should support them , it is a travesty how the pubs around the country have been allowed to fold , become increasingly Extinct,

I blame the flat dicks ,, Worst thing tha ever happened letting Wimmin in the Vault , Wimmin should have only been allowed in the Vault of pubs at 10 minutes to 3 on a Sunday afternoon to say the Dinners nearly ready

In fact now I come to think about it FlatDicks can be attributed to most things that are wrong with this country, in fact the whole planet.Boooooo

Hogarths in the town centre is starting

Rabbit Saloon in H Town can have some good turns on

Giving the roundhouse in Halliwell a try at the end of the month for my tribute band fix, Whitesnake and Scorpions coming up.

I was thinking more Canal Street.

Been in Hogarths tonight, they are building a new area above where the door to the smookers garden is, for Bands etc.

Fella behind the bar also added they were thinking about "open mic nights".

How sad, it was a great place - full of it's own charm.  Only been twice - to see Glen Tilbrook and Virgin Marys, both of which I would never expect to see in a venue so small.

Seven Stars in Harwood often have live bands

In the town centre :). Good lad Ray, he's come up stinking of roses :)

My local soon, hopefully.

Indeed. Although Moses Gate wasn't the end of the world; the TC venue is far more convenient.
