I know its a long shot..

Did anyone go there in the late 90's

Mrs Swanny needs to get GCSE certificates and the school has no record of her results. I need to find out which exam board they used for their English and Maths GCSE's so that we can get reprints..

Did anyone go?

Can anyone shed some light?

I'm happy to buy some beer if you can help me...

The school records don't go that far back and its 35 quid for each exam board to do a search from a potential 5 exam boards...

Former old Sladian Jimmy Phillips just text and said it was the GCSE Exam Board they used.

Can I have my beer tokens please ?

I didnt go to canon slade, but my cert from 90s from rivi was from northern exam board.

Would all bolton schools not use same?

Just make it up, they never check.

Teachers can choose which exam board they want to but, depending on which subject you want, the NEAB did most but this was taken over by AQA and covers a whole lot of old boards. Try here: http://www.aqa.org.uk/help-and-contacts/past-results/who-holds-your-records

Sorry, here is the FAQ page as well - if you don't know who holds your records, they will start searching immediately. AQA now cover most of the old exam boards, and Cannon Slade would have mainly been NEAB I would have thought (however, sometimes it's not based on geography, my drama exam was from the London board even though I went to Smithills, due to it being easier to pass!).

Good luck, should be fairly straightforward!

Pretty much true. I know a teacher who got her first teaching job without proof of her actual teaching certification. Nearly 10 years on at the same school she's never been asked to produce it!

thanks guys

they want to see the certificates for her uni course,

We've tried AQA who have sent back most but not English and maths, it seems to be edexcel..

I had the same issue 2 years back but luckily all mine were AQA..

schools can choose who they use and it changes frequently. Most use either AQA oor Edexcel, all my teaching is Edexcel and iFS
