Mark Davies

I've been his biggest of critics. Slated him and hoped he'd never play for us again.

But not in these circumstances. Wish him all the best in his recovery. He's a human being after all and the lad must be fucking crushed.

Good luck mark lad. Hope you salvage a career out of what you have left.

How the fuck is he our best player. Fucking hell, i know we are shit but we aint that shit

See Clough and Bristol

If it was a different player we'd be calling Wednesday a shower of cunts for pissing us about.

Funny how folk believe what they want to suit circumstances.

Top and bottom of it is that he's our best player and this is going to leave a big hole in our midfield.

This (but not best - creative)

Wouldn't say our best player at all, so far this league has been about standing tall and showing some grit which spearing, vela,Beevers and wheater have shown.

Any injury to one of them would have bigger consequences on our season not mark Davies

He's not our best player but is a miss because he has technical ability some others lack. If the rest were fit though I don't think I'd be that bothered. It just is bad timing with Clough, Clayton and Pratley also all out for the foreseeable.

Hardly the same is it?

ZC would have had a bigger wage at Bristol than here, he chose not to accept the offer hundreds of miles away because he thought he could get a better club in the long term.

Mark Davies chose to decline an offer from a big club not far away and carry on filling his boots, which he was entitled to do.

Not his biggest fan but wish him well in his recovery. Hope he's not too disappointed with wherever he rocks up next.

Meh is about where I am with it.

I think this embargo will cost us this season, surely if Davies won't play again this season he's no longer in the squad so should be able to be replaced. Come on ken sort them out!!

It was going to happen sooner or later

At least PP can plan a season without him

Not a huge miss, but would have been handy to bulk up the numbers.

It'll be reet.

If he'd stayed fit he'd have done the odd cameo performance and scored three or four goals.

The good news is he's not really suited to Parkinson's style of play anyway.

The bad news is we need a replacement in terms of numbers and given this embargo we may not get one. That'll hurt us with Pratley out.

Leaves us Vela, Spearing, Trotter in central midfield with Tom Walker not yet really ready.

Any confirmation of what the injury is yet?

Didn't MD turn down Wednesday coz they fucked him about rather than because they offered less money.

I know it's popular to slate Davies as being greedy but if the stories at the time were to be believed they mucked him about summert rotten with regards to medicals etc.

Plus I'd heard talk he had offered to take much less money to stay and sign a new contract similar to Wheater.

They wanted him to do an extra medical and fitness test because he's spent his whole career injured and his first medical was inconclusive.

Bit like buying a knackered Mazda coupe and asking to take it for a spin round the block.

Dunno Frank I wasn't aware of the medical situation.

I'd be tempted to take the talk about the contract with a pinch of salt though, he singed an extension in 2013 to take him through to the end of this season. Can't see why he would offer to take less money whilst still under contract?

Yes and bolton told him no dont worry about it

I reckon Mavies has looked decent this season - then he ought to at third tier level with his ability. He will be missed and we are desperately short of numbers. As the embargo was imposed due to our financial state I would have hoped losing "Bell in the ball" Amos would have given us some scope but seemingly not? How many more squad players have to get crocked before the embargo is relaxed. Can we now play the kids against Everton tomorrow without incurring a fine?

If the issue is that we're paying out more than the FL think is sustainable, why would they relax the constraints we are working under just cos we've got injuries

We can either afford the wage bill or we can't

My view is the FL think we can't but accept we need a reasonable sized squad

End of the day, we need 11 to play a match

Bell in the ball!

Ah bollocks

BREAKING ..Wanderers midfield player Mark Davies definitely out for the remainder of the season with cruciate knee injury . CONFIRMED.

FFS. Pay him off now and get him out of the door, so we can replace him.

have you got 750k burning a hole?

Nope.

But he's gonna get that anyways over the course of the next 10 months.

They should be looking into some way of doing it, if possible. I don't know for sure because I don't run financials for a football club.

Think cash flow being as bad as it is will stop us from doing that

We are likely contractually obliged to cover his medical treatment until he recovers as well I'd imagine

Nope.
