Love supping in the pub ( called in The Waldorf near Piccadilly today, really nice after a takeover and refurb) but don't mind an odd bottle of ale or glass of red at home. Just opened a Lidl near us in Royton, some decent stuff in there very cheap. Their Pinotage red at £3.79 is ridiculously good

and now its just just wine

This is me nowadays

And me

Pubs are for drinking in.

Its where alcohol should be consumed.

Don't drink at home and then moan about pubs closing.

Rug Rats should be contained in family restaurants..

When the last pub shuts down , that's when England will be finished.

I think Sunday afternoon supping in a pub is the best.

doing it right now... had a good old catch up with gordon today

:D

Ive seen sleeping tablets with a warning "these tablets may make you sleepy"

And paracetamol "these tablets may contain paracetemol"

Ive had a look in the fridge, 1 bottle of cider after I bought 3 for £5 last year. Pisshead.

Why are all the catpiss beer and cider makers trying to make their labelling/packaging on their chemical swill look 'artisan' these days? They're fooling fucking no-one - some twats get paid handsomely for thinking up these initiatives an' all.

Quite a few boozers around our way serving Worthingtons and Carling because of the discount Sky give for serving it. Gill at The Bowling Green is a great girl, treats her customers superb and on Mondays feeds us, she's a great cook too.

Can we please post pictures of our beverages. Pictures of beer and folks tea are the only reasons I go on Facebook. Fantastic!

I can also get 8 pints, my tea and 50p change for £15 in my local on a Monday if the barmaid tosses the coin in my favour, not too bad if you ask me :)

I drink a fair bit of whisky at home which I'd need to remortgage the house for if I supped it in pubs.  Rarely get so much as tipsy though to be fair.  Middle age rock and roll :)

Quality over quantity for me these days

On the drinking theme, there's a bloke pretty well known round there's parts called Charlie who rocked up in the squirrel pub 15 years ago.

Me and my pal worked out he'd spent £74,000 on carling in the 15 years since hes been here.

Jazza used to do that in a month

£100 a week? 30 pints or so of Carling. I'd have thought there's at least one bloke in most pubs in England who spends that.

Not me like.

Aye it was very loosely based on an average of 6-7 pints a day.

There's folk worse than him but he's the most consistent I know and is like clockwork. Same time everyday for 15 years straight is good going.

A mate of mine does 10 pints Friday,10 Saturday and 10 on Sunday and has done for 25 years.

A rough estimate must be £5k a year on yogi beer.

Each to their own an' all that.
